My daughter just met a man that she is interested in, he said he is a Freak, He is the piercer at the tattoo shop, also he hasn't asked for her # or anything yet he did ask me, her mom if she was available. Does this mean he is interested and hopefully normal? as she has been out of the dating scene for 9 years, should she overcome her shyness and just ask? what is the protocol for dating today?

Well it is very courteous of him to ask you about her, so he can be sure that you're allright with it, and people shouldn't be judged on their looks or what they do. He should definitely be given a chance. I think she should ask. In these modern times, it's rare to maintain all those old-fashioned ideals of the man making the first move. If you approve of it, I'd encourage her to ask.

That depends there is a good freak or a bad freak.. good freak is they can relate or simply just wild on different areas you might want to have a convo with her by asking does he turn her on by being freaky. or turns her complety off

guys should be the one that asks. asking for parental permission first then asking the girl is beyond the protocol.

Whatever happens, happens. It doesn't matter who calls whom first. If your daughter is interested and she has his number , tell her to give him a call. She won't know if he is "interested" or "normal" if she doesn't ask. It can't hurt.

No, but it seems he may be shy and these tattoos and stuff may just be his reason to hide his insecurities.
