ok the following has been all over myspace and has some good points...ENJOY!
Dear 8th Graders who just graduated,
Congrats....now you're the lowest of the low....the freshman. so
here are just a few helpful words of advice:
When you come into high school in the fall, please dont try to
act cool because what's cool to you usually isnt cool with the
upper classmen. stick to your middle school friends unless you know someone
Please DO NOT stand in the middle of the halls & talk to your friends because the upper classmen can, & most likely will, push you out of the way & call you a stupid freshman. you will get hurt
Try to find your locker the first week of school so you dont have to carry your entire locker in your really cool backpacks.
STAY iN A CHiLD [FRESHMANS] PLACE!
iT'S NOT COOl TO B LOUD AND THiNK U CUTE CUZ MOST LiKELY U WiLL GET SHUT D0WN!
NEVER talk back to upper classmen. Just dont try it.
Don't come there screaming that 10 stuff, 07, 08 and 09 will shut you down
Don't try to get with a boy who's older than you, chances are...they have a girlfriend who will hurt you
BEliEVE ME---You cant win. Have fun being a freshman...for a fun-filled year.
Sincerely,
-The Upper-Classmen-
-If youre an upper-classmen:repost this for all of the incoming freshmen-
-If youre an incoming freshman....good luck

Volleyball will help you meet people. Go in with an open mind, high school is a different experience for everyone (me, personally...I never want to go back). Keep your head up and enjoy it the best you can. Oh yeah, make sure you keep your grades up...it really helps when you want to get into college! Good luck :)

staying on top of your grades is very important. if you already have friends going with you then you will feel more comfortable. if not, i'm sure you'll make friends; especially with doing volleyball. try to wear nice looking clothes, especially during the first week. they definitely dont have to be expensive, just enough so that you don't look like a slob =]. but that is basically it. don't worry about it too much and try not to be nervous about it. the year will be over as soon as you know it!

Just be you. I know this sounds really corny and old fashioned but I wish I could go back to my HS days and relive it all so that I could act more like myself and less like other people. Now I've been out of HS for 4 years and I regret being shy and leeting others make me feel intimidated. No matter how much they grin at you, laugh at you, make nasty comments and say stupid things, just remember that any person worth having in your life will love you for you.

IF you want to succeed in classes, remember SLANT:
Sit up

Ask questions
Nod your head at good points made in a lecture
T - section: sit in the from or middle of the class if possible

there will be peer pressure in school and in real life but just remember"Follow the crowd and you will never be followed by a crowd."
