You're kind of screwed until you're through the "gap" and Medicare will pick up your med costs again. It's a very messed up program.

Might your income be low enough for you to apply for Medicaid in your State (usually under about $800/mth)? You might want to look into it.

If you are in the Gap of the Medicare D plan the only thing you can do is check with the SS office and see if you can get on medicaid, those who qualify do not have a gap and have copays as little as 1 to 3 dollars.

Well, this is the donut hole catch that they all talk about. What do you do? Pay the bills when they come due. Be sure to record all of these through your insurance carrier so they can pick you up again after you get to the other end.
