I would like to take the opinion "because women seem to respond better to jerks" and add a little to that. My theory is that because of social labels women who wish to be promiscuous and not be labeled as sluts or something else have to date guys that are jerks because then the relationship is pretty much guaranteed not to last. When it ends the women is free to pursue another such relationship without any guilt and its all the guys fault because he the jerk. They avoid the good guys because they would have no good reason not to commit. Women act like victims, but I think some women know exactly what they are getting into and either lie or won't admit to themselves that they really just want to have sex with a whole bunch of guys without getting to involved the relationship. So it's womens fault men are jerks because that seems to be what ya'll need so you don't feel bad about yourselves or get called names.

that is because alot of guys think that women only like jerks. we see so many of you hanging all over the worst guys around. maybe you should ask yourself a question. why do i always go for the guy who is a jerk? if you don't like the way a guy treats you or acts then try warming up to a guy that does not act like a jerk.

Well alot of guys are jerks because they dont know any better. That is how they are used to guys acting and they feel they have to act that way...why?, who knows. but there are still a few nice ones out there. keep looking.

its easy
its safe (little chance of getting hurt if you're the one doing the hurting)
it gives a sense of power
it requires no consideration for others
it gets kudos from other guys
it goes well with testosterone
it can mask fear
nice guys finish last
nice guys dont get laid
nice guys get sand kicked in thier face by the jerks.

Umm.. look to their up-bringing. Most jerks didn't have parental companions. What they know now, they most likely learned from another "friend". Its a phase they never grow out of! Beware. good Luck!
