My sister needs a lawyer for veterinarian malpractice in the Tamp - St. Pete area in Florida. She took her dog to the vet and they overdosed him and he's now in a dog hospital with even more problems than he started with and they told her it was because of the medicine the other veterinarin gave the dog, that it was too much and too strong for him. So she's having to pay even more money for this. She's already paid about a thousand dollars. I know that may sound rediculous for a dog but it's a part of their family.

I don't know if things are different in Florida than my state, but here it is VERY difficult to win a malpractice suit in vet med. As the other person said, first make a complaint to your states vet med board. The vet in charge will have to respond to them, if they admit wrong doing to the board your chance of winning a lawsuit will improve greatly.

Good luck

Guns are another reason God made them. Anyone who would spend that kind of money on a stupid animal that will probably die soon by a car, deserves to be ripped off.

I would not spend more than a couple of hundred dollars on a dog, cat, etc, even if I was filthy rich, unless it was a vicious attack dog that was loyal to me or it made me money by some special tricks or shows it was in. There are people that are starving and sick that can use money like that, so shoot the damn dog or have it put to sleep, and sue the vet for EXTORTION! There is no such thing as animal malpractice yet, but I'm sure the way America is, it will get that way soon since we won WW 11 and let the big nosed viruses come to our country.

Wake the F#$% up people!

I don't know of any I'm not in that area, but I do feel for her. My SIL just lost a dog after having it spayed she took her home and she died. My dogs are like my kids, I spent over $8000 on one between a broken leg, a elliptic seizure and my ex husband shooting her in the back and paralyzing her.

Good luck, I hope that she comes out of it okay.

She should ask the Vet to pay for the costs first, they may be willing to do it being it is their fault.

I really don't know why people expect Vets and Doctors to never make a mistake. We all make mistakes, why do we expect them to be different?

You should call your local AVMA board of directors and file a formal complaint. They will investigate it impartially for you. Any ambulance chaser can represent you once you get the facts.
