A staff infection has to be treated immediately. I would suggest if you can't get in to see your doctor, go to the emergency room. I got a staff infection after bypass surgery, and they had to remove my sternum because there wasn't any medication which could get rid of it. I was in the hospital 4 days for the bypass surgery, and another 15 days for the staff infection.

Usually, yes. Especially if it is a strain of staff that will spread. There are virulent strains that are more prevalent in a hospital setting that you really must be careful of.
If it's an isolated sore it's not as big of a deal - it can be lanced and will heal pretty quickly with antibiotic ointment.

True; a "staph" (not staff :) ) infection is highly contageous and would perferrably need treated asap as to avoid spread of infection.

Staff infection- def. infection of the staff at your employment?
Staph infection- def. staphylococcus infection-
according to where it is. all humans carry staph on their skin believe it or not, but if in a wound, or respiratory, or urinary, yes, it does need to be treated ASAP.
symptoms: redness, swelling, localized infection-pus, draining wounds, warm to touch, increased fever, etc.
