Dont Blame your cat. It show's that your cat really loves you and your husband is right about it. If your going to stop it then your going to upset him. Be a feline for once and accept the token of what he brought you at least what id do is cook a wonderful meal out of those snakes and nothing goes to waste, The whole family could enjoy a great snake meal even the cats! It's a Basic Instinct of a cat cause right now your the Alpha Female and his working and making sure his family has somthing to eat. I've had a cat like that once bless her soul loved her for bringing food back home to me be it a bird etc i cooked it and make her happy =D so dont be confused be glad your cat loves you alot when he does that.

You should be proud of the love of your cat, it is just showing you that it appreciates your love and affection. They have a strange way of showing their love and gratitude. My cats do the same thing...it upsets me but I know that they are doing it for the right reasons. They Love You ..... Show them some affection...it's an animalistic kind of thing...kinda like a man thing. By the way have your daughter discard of the dead rodants...its much easier this way.

Your husband is right - your cat is showing you he loves you by bringing you "trophies". He wants you to be proud of him. It's completely natural for a cat to prey on birds, snakes, rodents, insects. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done aside from keeping him indoors.

The male cats think they are the leader of their pride (your family), so he is doing his responsibilities by bringing you food, and showing you what a good hunter he is, he really wants you to say 'Thank you, you are so clever and such a good provider'. My male cat does the same thing (and proceeds to eat his findding in full view), I try and catch them if they are still alive and se them free.

My female cat brings 'friends' (mice, lizards) home to play, but she never eats them, just plays with them til they die of freight. I try and set these ones free to.

I'm not sure there's much you can do, except keep him in at night.

It is him just telling you he loves you. He is a hunter not a killer so don't think your cat is sick. Actually your other cat is lazy because cats ARE hunters. Why do you think people get cats to get rid of mice?? He is showing you what a good, brave, smart boy he is by bringing you his kill. You are the head cat ya know. :)

He's not a murderer! Cats aren't people, they can't be murderers. What the cat is simply doin is what years of genetic evolution is doing. You are dominate to that cat, and the cat is catching FOOD for you.

Your cat is proving he is earning his keep by keeping "his" area clean. He is a good hunter. this is normal behavior in most cats. my cat sam was such a good hunter that we put a belled collar on him. it worked for less than a week, then he learned how to move without making the bells jingle. it didnt slow him down for long.

cats have always done this, it's in their genetic makeup. some have said it is presented as a sign of affection but i believe it a natural instinct and only wanes with age. try using a bell to warn his prey or keep him inside all the time.

No way to stop it, it's TOTALLY natural. It's called the laws of nature, some are the killers, some get killed. Your husband is right though, he is just bringing you his prize to make you proud.
