I'm not sure where I fall in the realm of spiritualism. I believe Jesus lived, preached and died on the cross. I believe that He believed his own teachings.
I have doubts that God created the earth - I lean more towards evolution or a random conflugation of events created all life.
I believe that God did NOT create dinosaurs and neanderthals that roamed the earth before 'Adam and Eve' and I have doubts of an afterlife. What am I, what will you call someone like me (apart from crazy or a trouble maker, that is)?

The question is what is someone like me called.
Please do not refer me to the bible, do not pray for me, and do not quote me scripture. Those responses make assumptions and do not answer my question at all.

your just human like us we have some of the same questions running in our heads too but in personal beleifs i belive there is a God who in turn wakes me in the morning protects in the day and puts me to sleep at night and watches over me, in turn i am to live my life the best i can loving one another as i go along the path way of life when in doubt of a god i look at the birds how they are fed , and the trees and flowers and see the smile of god in them, the wind is his voice softly ever gently talking to my inner soul saying trust in me and you will make it through. as far as the the dinosaurs etc well that is to me hearsay but if we knew the answer to everything our minds would explode..... so have faith my sister and trust in a high power greater then yourself love those you even hate and do the next right thing God will reward you in ways you wont belove.

Hey mini. I'm not sure if I would classify your views as Christian. Most scholars of history believe their was a figure living in the 1st century who was put to death under Pontius Pilate. There's as much historical evidence (apart from the Canon of Scripture) to support this as there is for Julius Caesar. But the classical definition of Christian has always been a belief that Jesus is God. (I believe that L. Ron Hubbard lived, died, wrote, and believed what he preached, that doesn't make me a Scientologist.) As to your views on evolution, many Christian Churches and Faith Communities accept Evolution as the best scientific explanation for the development of life on earth that we have. You can be a follower of Christ and believe in Evolution. (though some protestants will tell you otherwise) So basically, if you believe that there is no God, you are an Atheist. If you don't feel you can know, agnostic, if you feel there is a God, you are a theist. It's great that your asking questions, I hope you pursue this further. I would suggest talking to some authorities on the specific positions. (may i humbly suggest a Catholic or Orthodox priest for the Christian and Theist) God bless!

Sounds like you are agnostic that maybe leans closer to theism. It sounds like you are doubting Christianity more than you are doubting a god in general. Having doubts about god isn't the same as being an atheist anyway. Atheists don't believe in a god.
Hard to tell from what you have said. Reseaching the various viewpoints would probably help you figure out your stance. Try looking at deism, pantheism, paganism, and maybe even buddhism. If you think that a god may not exist...look at some works dealing with philosophy of religion.

You are on the right path, but the world has given you a stumbling block (as it always does). Romans 10:9 says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God had raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Does God HONESTLY need evolution to explain His creation? I think not. We are made in Gods image and I seriously doubt that God is an ape. Adam and Eve were only a day or two behind the dinasaurs. Who's to say that the neanderthals weren't people off the ark that had to literally start from scratch again?

Well I am a christian as well and I truly believe in an after-life. I believe that God created the earth but there is nothing that say he didn't create so we could evolve to adapt to our environments. remember to ponder that the bible is poorly translated and written by regulars guys who are just passing down history as told to them by their ancestors. I know that there is a God and that we have souls that live on after our physical body has expired. It helps to pray for guidance in this matter and I am sure you will understand. Good luck and God Bless.

You acknowledged God's existance, so you are not an Atheist.
Most Christians would claim that Jesus was both man and God; and that His death redeemed this world. I would think that your beliefs regarding these would be helpful in clarifying whether or not you might consider Christianity.
Based on the few beliefs you shared, you seem to fit most closely with Agnosticism: "One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism".
More information would be necessary for me to make further comments.

I sugest you stick with being a Christian even though I am an atheist myself. According to Aristotle, this is what happens when you die and the possiblty of what might happen.
A)You believe in God and God is real.
1)You go to heaven.
B)You don't believe in God and God is real.
1)You go to hell.
C)You don't believe in God and God is not real
1) You made a mistake.
So the point is that if you believe in God, then the chance of you having a good afterlife is much better then not believeing. Make sense?

Confused.
You sound like someone who has never been confronted with the Truth
I once got all my belief systems from sci-fi novels. Boy, was I confused!
Now I know Jesus.
Check Him out. Find a someone who you believe is living out their Christian faith as put forth in the Bible and ask them to explain the basics of belief in Jesus as Savior.

In my opinion, if you care enough to want to know and are really serious about it, and not too sure about yourself, and you go ahead and find out all you can, but watch out for cults and other so-called religions. then I would have to say you have a chance of becoming a very good Christian. My email address is stullerrl@yahoo.com. If you would care to write me, I will answer any questions I can, and if I can't answer, I'll go find the answer. God bless you.

i don't know i think being agnostic seems to fit the bill here....Mostly because you believe things that you can see and that you can experience. The Idea of a god type is pretty abstract....maybe you don't think that it is possible to have a relationship with god, or maybe you don't think it is possible to know of the right god. Any which way if you think any of these things you are probably agnostic. But if you don't think god exists at all then that means you are atheist.
