My F-150 front end squeaks and pops and cracks when I make a turn. What can I do to fix it?

it sounds like the balljoints are bad.the only way to find out is to jack the front wheel off the ground about 3 to 4 inches,do one side at a time.place one hand at the top of the wheel and the other hand at the bottom of the wheel,try to rock the wheel in and out if the wheel moves then the balljoints need to be replaced.

Depending on the year, if its a 92 to 96. If it is, it's the rivets that get loose and the frame and crossmembers move a little to make a popping noise. The easiest thing to do is the weld the frame and crossmember, in the front so it doesn't move.

Some Fords came with out greasable front ends and they make a lot of noise. You don't say what year it is but my 1999 Lincoln Town Car had this problem and there is nothing you can do but drive it or trade it in.

As others said, unless some of the joints that are non greasable are loose, all you can do is try white lithium grease on all rubber moving parts and see if it helps.

also on trucks with twin I beam, the radius arm busings are known for wearing out causing almost the same noises you described also.

Take it out of 4 wheel drive.
