My son just got Walmarts health insurance policy after I told him to get some insurance. He says he signed up, but their health insurance is a bad one. I just wanted him to be insured because a trip to the ER for any kind of accident or illness could financially ruin him. Wages at Walmart aren't exactly great. I have insurance through walmart and it is really good...although used to work at a different location and it was really bad... it really matters on where you are located the insurance changes with the area..make your son give you the information about his insurance, you most likly can go online walmartbenifts.com and see what he has.

If you are just concerned about a catastrophic injury and he is otherwise very healthy, he should strongly consider the HSA option where they and he puts in money which is then used to pay the initial deductible. If he never needs the money for a deductible because he doesn't get sick...the money rolls over to the next year and so on and so on. It eventually builds up and can be moved to his next employer, etc.
