I find it very hard to believe this as they can't cure cancer or any number of other diseases at this point. In any event, there will always be death. Even if they cure every disease known to man what happens when someone gets crushed in a building collapse or burns to death in a fire? I think Kurzwell is just afraid of his own demise.

Well, I'm actually in Reno, so I hope that's far east enough for you. I'm from Texas anyway.
I find it hard to believe that they will prolong life indefinitely. Even if they do, there will still be car crashes and murders and suicides, etc.
But that is not the point.
You are asking if religion will ever disappear. I say absolutely not. For those of us who are spiritual (and I am not religious, only spiritual), we don't have our beliefs because we are afraid of eternal damnation. God doesn't only save you in the end. He saves you every single day. I have tried to live my life without Him, but it's truly impossible for me. I need Him every single moment. So if I were to live forever, I would still want Him around.

if that were to happen, assuming there were no more car accidents, natural disasters, disease, murders, ect. maybe. living forever the way we are now would be torture. how many times can you do something before boredom sets in? then you look for something else and that goes on and on and on until there is nothing new, life is a repetition and you slowly become insane. so suicide is the next question. did he consider the mental aspects? i didnt know there were any literate californians.

I think that my faith has helped the fear of aging and death go away. Beleiving in a merciful and forgiving God has already helped the fire and brimestone go away - although I do not have all the answers, I believe if you are the best you can be "there is nothing to fear but fear itself"!

no matter if lack of life should be suspended continually, we ought to nevertheless have the issue of overpopulation (till everybody agreed to stop having little ones...which i do not see ever happening). i'd particularly die than stay in a international the position we are crammed jointly shoulder to shoulder scuffling with over elements.
