It depends on the debts in question. Student loans can never be filed under bankruptcy. If you file Chapter 13, then you are on a strict 3 year payment plan ordered by the court. This site should help you to understand each Chapter better (7, 11, 13).

It depends on a lot of factors - where you live, what Chapter you file under, and the nature of the debt. Some debts cannot be cancelled this way, others might or might not go away depending on the specific circumstances. You need an attorney who specializes in this.

no the point is to wipe the debt but there is a few depts that cant be wiped out.
