Yes because instead of having to take it to a childish level of you hurt me now I have to hurt you by sleeping with some else. You need to leave that person alone because it will become a cycle. Since you slept with someone else and you hurt me now I am going to sleep with another person to hurt you again. Get what I am saying don't bother leave the person alone.

Depends whether you're still in a relationship with another person if the time. If the answer to that is yes, then yes, it is. If the answer is no, then no, it isn't.
