well i thought my dog had entered the first stage of labor a few hours ago, she was nesting, walking around in circles, not eating, lying around doing nothing really.
well now its about 5 hours later and nothing? she isnt nesting anymore, she still wont eat, we bought her special food for the last days of pregnancy for easier digestion and smaller meals.

shes not panting or breathing hard, did i make a mistake by thinking she was in the first stage? she is in her 62nd day???

any tips would be greatly appreciated.
uve been petting her rubbing her belly, she should be very comfortable, she follows me everywhere, well until a bout an hour ago now she is just sleeping.

???

When it gets to the late stages of pregnancy, it's not easy to get comfortable, and any food on your stomach feels like you just had to try a little bit of everything at thanksgiving dinner. She's most likely just taking a bite or two of her food every once in a while and trying hopelessly to find somewhere to lay down where she doesn't feel like she's gonna explode. She'll let you know if something's wrong. So try to give her some room.

First of all, if you have any questions you should contact your local Vet, they will be able to assist you in labor signs.
Labor is a pretty suden onset. Yes, she should start circling around. She will begin panting hard. You really can't miss it... it will be so different that just normal pants. They will be very fast and "labored". 62 days doesnt mean anything. It could be a week or week and a half from now until she has them. Her milk bags should be full and ready. Depending on how many previous litters she has had. Normal dogs temperature is between 101 and 102. I recommend buying a cheap thermometer and rectally taking her temperature. Bitches that have (or soon will) be in labor usually drop into the 98's.
Just watch for her labored breathing. When she goes into labor let her push with hard contractions for 2 hours....if it goes any longer than that you need to call your Vet, something may be wrong and she may need a c-section. Other than that... you should see the bag start coming out first and your dog will break the bag and the puppy follows. Leave an hour to hour and a half between puppies for everything to be considered going normal

She is in the early stages. It may be tomorrow before she has them. Just watch her closely. Sleep beside her if you can. Good luck with the pups.

Watch for a sac coming out. That will be the sac holding a puppy. If it comes out and an hour later she has not had the pup, it is time to go to the vet, or if she starts pushing and nothing happens in 2 hours, take her to the vet. Hope it goes okay.

No, that's no longer conventional if she has been pushing for that lengthy. A dogs might want to no longer be allowed to push for longer than an hour and a 1/2 in the previous alerting your Vet. often times a walk around the backyard, on a leash, ought to help to get issues shifting, yet when this doesn';t artwork then you want to get her to a Vet asap because there must be an more suitable tremendous doggy, or possibly a useless one, waiting contained in the beginning canal and this can avert something else of the muddle being born. in case you do take her outside purely you would possibly want to take a sparkling textile with you in case she decides to squat accessible and promises beginning. you could then scoop up the doggy and rush both Mum & doggy interior no matter if that is darkish outside take a flashlight with you. This has befell to me contained in the previous and that's extra perfect to be properly prepared.

Leave her alone. She knows what she is doing. Just like with women, it takes a few hours until ACTUAL labor starts and keeps going. Give her some time and space.

It could be anytime. If nothing happens by morning, I would touch base with the vet. They really should be the guide to know if an Oxytocin shot is in order. Usually it is not, but it is better to be safe than sorry!!!

Maybe it would be a good idea to speak with your vet about this. Are you sure 62 days are right?
