I have heard many Protestants claim that Catholics are not Christians, or Catholics do this, or Catholics do that and I am wondering as to how many have actually gone to a Catholic Mass to see for themselves how we conduct our services. And before you ask I have been to many different services at many different churches. That is part of my study that brought me to Catholicism.

If you have attended Mass what did you find so horrible or satanic or even unChristian?

What lifestyle is unChristian? I as a Catholic try to follow Christ and not harm others. I read my Bible and try to learn. What about my faith makes me not a Christian?

Personally I wonder if different styles of worship aren't somewhat like different styles of music. But that is just a thought of mine.

True our service is shorter. One of the oddest things I found in the beginning is we have a Homily not a Sermon. There is a difference. I never did like someone yelling that I was going to hell!

As I said there were many who believed we were not Christian and I am glad to see that some do not think this way.

I haven't attended a Catholic Mass, but I know people who are Catholic and they're perfectly normal - nothing out of the ordinary. Catholics and Protestants are both Christians and that's a fact. Why are people so uneducated about this? I don't think there are huge differences, going from demonation to demonation on the Protestant side of Christianity, but it's suttle differences. It's like a song made by a bunch of different artists. Like you said, a different style. Catholics and Protestants both believe in the same God, same everything. God bless you.

My entire family is Protestant, with the exception of a few non-practicing Catholics and even a few atheists.

I attended Catholic school. And as a young child I simply couldn't understand why the nuns would make me and other non-Catholics sit out of the services.

As an adult I was involved with a "man" whose family was the most conservative Catholic family you could find anywhere, IMHO. But they admitted freely that the only reason they even went to church was to put a check in the plate every week so the older daughter could get married there. They would take commuion, walk back to our seat and grab their coats, and keep right on walking out the door. But my bf would constantly tell me how I would need to change my religion to Catholic and take classes and denounce my family's being Protestant. Well thank the good Lord we parted ways. I then met and married a Catholic man who came over to the winning side and converted to Protestantism *haha sorry had to throw that little pun in there*.

My very dear lady! I used to have the other side of that argument where my Catholic neighbors used to tell me (a very young Protestant) that I was going to hell and that I wasn't Christian. Sad isn't it...but back to your question. I have indeed gone to Catholic Mass and find it very restful to the spirit. I venerate the Holy Mother because I choose to but that's where I sort of stop. I ran from organized religion when I was about 18. Don't worry though. God and I still talk a lot. I am rather glad to see that you also, have been to a great deal of services. Blessings.

I have been to a few Catholic masses and have not found any reason to consider that catholics are not christians. Anyone can claim to be a christian because of certain things they do or don't do, but what matters is the individual's relationship with Christ.

I am a Protestant and I am friends with many Catholics. There are big differences between the two, but they are both Christians. Christianity branches off into Catholic and Protestant which then branches out to Methodist, Baptist, and so on. I am Methodist. I find alot of things about the Catholic beliefs odd. And i love to get into peaceful arguements with my friends about them (we do the same with politics, because it is fun to share your views and learn other people's). Catholics believe that you can confess to your clergy (i am not sure what their are called) and you will be forgiven. I, on the other hand, believe that the clergy people can't say whether or not God forgives you. I believe that you pray to God to forgive you. There are several more differences, but they are both perfectly Christian.

Yes, I have been at least i guess 100 times with no exaggeration. 180/5= 36*7=252 times. I went to a catholic school. well they claim to be christian but i have met very few that actually strive for holiness and i dont see how u can be holy without the hly ghost which comes on those who believe that Jesus is the only begotten son of God who is not God, 1/3 nor 1/2 of God, died on Calvary to save those who would believe on him and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, healing, renewed life in Christ. Another reason is that many of their practices come from tradition. not that tradition is wrong but they have tradition that goes to their salvation. the only scripture they ever gave me to support honoring mary above any other person in the bible was before Jesus died and he wanted her to taken care of. they took it out of context. There is no evidence for the pope especially since Christ is the cheif corner stone and they hold vigil to false idols of images in wood and things. Infant baptism is wrong because u r not supposed to force your religion upono some. We baptize in the name of Jesus beccause that is the way the Apostles did it and we believe in full immersion only.
NO where in the bible does it say anything about the holy ghost being part of God except that is is his spirit. There is only one scripture in the whole entire bible that could even be stretched to support the trinity. but over and over does it speak of jesus being the Son of God. Also Catholic people do not have the holy Ghost the way the bible says you should have it. You should practice healing, tongues, interpretation, prophecy (not always looking in the future), discernement of spirits and many other things. their worship is not true, people praise when they are told not because they want to. I knew of someone who was repremanded for clapping in church. Also in my opinion they make God smaller than he actually is by not telling how big and awesome powerful an almighty he is. also the eucharist the bible says that if u eat it unworthily then you are damned people eat it without asking God for forgiveness, they eat it then go out and sin, and in my opinion if u do it so much it devalues it. The bible says make a JOYFUL noise unto the Lord, praise him with the timbrel, drums and dance. david had the holy ghost and shouted before the lord as we do because we love him. the bible says to honor the Son even as you do the Father, I dont think that I've ever heard a "thank you Jesus" in their.

I hope you read all this and there is many more reasons why also but i dont feel like explaning them now u may email me though. I go to a Apostolic Church and am saved with the gift of the holy ghost with power.

I have been to catholic mass many times when I was young. I didn't understand a lot but found it very cold and unfriendly. (not saying that all r like that it was just my experience and I do know a lot of Catholics that r Christians)

I was raised Lutheran but have been to many Catholic masses. They do many things Lutherans don't do: genuflect, chanting in Latin, that whole incense thing, tossing water or whatever three times, kneeling, etc. Now, I'm not saying all Catholic churches do this and I'm not saying all Protestant churches don't do this, I'm just telling you the differences I noticed.

I am protestant and was raised Catholic. I disagree with some of the doctrine surounding the authority of the church and Pope. this by no means makes Catholic evil or non-Christians just of differing belief.

Now then being excommunicated for being gay get my goat because i know God loves me even ifthe church does not. But, I do not hate Catholics I just pray for divine inspiration and wisdom for them.
