YES.
I have a little bitty pocket bible that I take with me when I travel. It's a great little bible. A nice little sorce of comfort. It's even got the red words, which we all know are the important words.
But my dad is getting old and so he couldn't read those little bitty words. So that would not be a good bible for him. Likewise my sister has a bible for girls. Not sure how that works or why it's so special, but the cover is purple and she seems to like it.
So there may not be "better" bibles, but there are better bibles for different people.

Yes as some change the actual meaning s of the words. The King James' version was the original translation and it was meticulously translated from the original hebrew and greek into the proper English. I would suggest a New King James as it was translated out of the original tongues and with previous translations.
I would use a KJV and a new KJV which is the original using modern language. But I would also get (I have) a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. This is an excellent tool for understanding what the original Hebrew and Greek text was and the definition or meaning of the original words.

Some are easier to understand. I prefer the NIV (Full Life Study Bible) myself. The King James is supposedly more accurate but it is like reading Shakespeare (although the New King James kind of helps remedy this).
The best type of bible is a "study Bible". I have the above mentioned one.

No. Most protestants use KJV because Catholics have theirs which is called catholic and they think that it is the closest to the original. Even though its not, I stioll use it. Also the NIV is good if you cant really understand KJV. They are only translations. Be careful though, some religions have twisted the words. Also another good bible is the amplified and try using some commentaries and study bible with the words in greek, hebrew and aramaic.

While what all these people have said is true, and while some Bibles have small advantages over others depending on what you're looking for, I think that in the fundamental sense, it doesn't matter what version you get. The Bible is divinely inspired, not dictated, so the exact words don't really matter. What matters is the overall message you get from them, and that doesn't change from version to version. Get whatever Bible you want.

All english translations are based on some kind of spin applied to the bible by its translators. If you get into a habit of reading and studying the bible, you can start to get a general understand of the flow and points of scripture. Also people forget that its His spirit that guides you into all understanding, so allow that to be your guide as you read and study.
And, its perfectly alright to grow in your understanding, I didn't quite (and still don't...) understand several passages... but its a lifetime pursuit.

well the fact of the matter is that only one is true... it's not possible for all to be right bc they all say only they are right so if you say they are all right then you are already saying that they all said something false.
So if only one is right, then that would mean one is better than another!
Also the christian bible has the most facts backing it up! Also prophesies that the bible has told has come true 100% of the time.

Certain translations are more accurate or closer to the original than others...Remember the Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the new mostly in Greek, when you read it in English you are depending on the accuracy of the Translation.

YES THE KING JAMES VERSION IS THE BEST BECAUSE THE TRANSLATION IS BETTER INTERPETED ALSO THE NEW KING JAMES IS GOOD THE OTHER BIBLES ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE THE TRANSLATORS PUT IN WORDS THAT THEY THINK BELONG AND REALLY DON'T

I think different translations give different spins on the same verses. I like to cross reference between amplified, niv, and the message translations.
