A boy called me, we'd known each other as friends for about a year, and he asked me out. I said yes, and since it was late and I had a friend over, I asked him to call me back later. As soon as he hung I realized I didn't have HIS phone number. It's been over a week and he hasn't called again.

Why don't you just talk to him when you see him. Tell him you had a friend over when he called and suggest a place you would like to go with him. Maybe his just doesn't know what you would like to do?

Call your phone company and see if they can give you an itemized list of the calls you received that day. You can assist the phone company by narrowing the work by giving them a 1 to 2 hour time frame to work with. Once you get that list, scratch off the number you know and begin to narrow it down to that guy's number. Good luck...

The next time you see him tell you were sorry for not getting back with him but you did not have his phone number. Let him know you would still like to see him "if that is the case" but that you were busy at the time and did not think about not haveing his phone number.

That is messed up, call a mutual friend to get the number, if you are going out with him then it would only make since for him to call you soon. He'll call!

Just forget about it, because it probably wasn't a big deal to him, since he didn't call back. He said he would call back, but he didn't. Or, he probably thought that since you told him to call back later, you were hinting that you weren't interesting. Either way, he hasn't called back and you don't have his number, so just let it go and go on with your life.

When you told him you had "a friend over", I hope you said it was a girl. If not don't bother trying to contact him because he figures you're screwing someone else so why bother. I know it sounds hard but its true...

I believe he is not coming for your date, you can undress now.
Better take your chance with another guy.
Make sure you get his number, just in case something unexpected happens, as he doesn't show up, or Brad Pitt invite you out.
Cheers
