I am not asking as to how you where raised. I believe in God and Christ too, but I am wondering what have you experienced in your life that led you to believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was for real and not just a story in the Book?

Dear Militant Atheist, I think you meant to answer my other question. The one directed at atheists... I do think for myself. Why the direct attack on my intelligence?

I guess from all the things he has done in my life.
My husband has been diabetic now for 15 years. I don't think we've ever been able to keep his sugars at a normal level for more than a month total.. yet his eyes are fine,, no kidney problems,,2 heart attacks before he was diagnosed and 2 since so are they really realted to the diabetes?.. he has no numbness in his fingers, arms or legs..
He is anemic but his heart rate is good which the Drs say is rare.. After 4 heart attacks he has good blood flow to his heart.

And after the second heart attack (the first one had been misdiagnosed) we were told he had a dead spot on his heart about the size of a 50cent piece. Last x-rays that were taken, they couldn't find it!
God work miracles. I've seen it!

I was an alcoholic for forty five years. I tried everything I could think of to stop. Detox and treatment and counseling. On the evening of Nov 10th, 1990, I was drunk and sick with the flu and probably pneumonia. I had no where to turn. So, I just started praying. You cannot strike deals with the Lord, but you can have a covenant with Him. I just said I know I have said this many times, but if you will get me out of this, I wll never touch another drink with alcohol. He took the wanting away. It's been 16 years, come November and I have not had a drink. Praise the Lord. If you read the Old Testament, especially Isaiah and Daniel who lived hundreds of years before Christ was born and Isaiah even fore told his birth, where it was going to be, and be born of a virgin visited upon by the Holy Spirt and the Virgin becoming pregnant with the Saviour and even what his name would be. I don't know how anyone could read that and not believe.

Rember that you go to church or hear about God because your grandma draged you there, but sometimes things happen that really have no explination: picking up a coin before YOU were the one ran over, having your car broke down before starting a long trip and find out that THAT highway had a landslide!.

Some times the questions that I ask my self : if God Created us, Who did him and if that had an answer who did him also.

In a very far far future many knowledges will be "open" to us for example: the catholic priest in the dark age only did the mass for themselves and thay did it in latin!. Ask your self why does man or "men" decide how much of truth or in this case "knowledge" you are "prepared" to recieve?

Long answer short: some things can only be answered with time, the bad part is that we can't love long enough to leran more and share.

Nice Question.

God has put people in my life who have helped me thru difficult times. The chain(s) of events that have led us together are too weird to have been mere coincidences. I cannot say that it was any one single thing. My faith started small. As I opened my eyes I began to see that his work was all around me. I was the problem. I probably still am. If I was not so stubborn I would conform to his will much better and receive his blessings that I can't see yet.

PS:
atheist hate us because that is what they are told to do. It's funny how he accused you of not reading and not thinking for yourself while at the same time he spews evidence that he has very little knowledge of the bible.

I believe because I would rather be safe than sorry, plus the fact that when I did wrong to others (lied, etc.) my life was in a downward spiral, but the second I started treating people good, and following as many of the 623 commandments that are in the Bible as possible, my life started to improve greatly. That is what led me to believe.

Well I needed help and I humbled myself and I really didn't think it would work since my life was so messed up and I had do so many things. I knew that I needed help battling my meth addiction so I prayed so hard and i begged for help and low and behold God answered me. Now instead of active addiction Iam a recovering addict and Iam alive with an awesome job and life. He really turned my life around and without him I would be dead you see I was shooting up 7.5 grams a day and my cravings were increasing. that is a little more then 2 eight balls a day and it was so bad I was stealing and I didn't care about my own children but thanks to god helping me loving me and forgiving me I have my children and my families trust back. My life if great and i thank him every day for his help. My heart could not take anymore and it wasn't time for me to go home yet so he saved me again
