Children always come first. Women are fiercely devoted to their children as well they should be. If your man can't handle being second then he should just step off.

he better understand. nothing, i mean nothing comes between my time with my children. not my women, not my children's mother, not my family or friends. no one.
my children come first before anybody. i have lived with my women for 9 years. and on my weekends with my kids we go to my dads house and we spend the weekends there. because i believe that my children are here to see me and deal with me as a dad not as someones man. so my very understanding lady does not interfere with my arrangements.and my kids are with me for a month in the summer. my children are first.

Tell him your kids come first, if he can't understand that, not to let the door him in the butt on the way out

If this guy isn't sensitive enough to understand that your kids need you, then he doesn't really care about you or the kids. Period.
Maybe you should look for someone who does...

Let him know that it HAS to happen. If he doesn't let it happen you all will end up breaking up eventually. I am sure he would rather give you some space than lose you forever.
I know.. it has happened to me.
