Take it easy, girl. It is like that. About 3 months ago i took off my braces. And it was nasty. You don't feel comfort because it's d first time after years. It's same like when you have your braces at the first time right? Well at least the gums give u some warnings; don't eat gums.

Sounds like a great excuse to eat some ice cream. Maybe the cold will help the swelling go down.

When I got mine off I made an appointment the next day with the dentist for a cleaning. Felt great! I recommend the same.

As hard as it is, you just have to give your body a chance to adjust. It will take a few days but the swelling and everything else will get back to normal. Just think though!!! How great you'll feel :) Congrats on getting them off! :)

the gross feeling will eventually go away
and your gums will heal
its just that they are agitated from everyone poking and pulling wires
and taking off your brackets
you can use any ibuprofen to help the swelling go down.
if the pain doesnt go away and it hurts even worse tomorrow
call your orthodontist
he can prescribe medication for you to take to help the swelling and pain.

I don't think there is anything you can do about swollen gums. Just wait it out....it should be gone in a day or two.

Unfortunately, the swelling may take a few days to go down. Sorry.

swish salt water around for a minute or so that should keep the infection at bay.
