YES they are a racist group and they are funded by YOU and every other American through our GOVERNMENT who donates to La Raza! La Raza helps other racist hate groups like MEChA:
La Raza is the richest of the Hispanic organizations, with total revenue in 1996 of no less than $14 million, of which $8.5 million was private contributions, $3.2 million was government grants, and $2 million was largely government fees and contracts. In other words, the U.S. government gives millions of dollars every year to an ethnic advocacy group that criticizes immigration legislation as "a disgrace to American values." The organization makes no pretense of grass-roots or even Hispanic support, and like MALDEF would disappear if its gringo patrons came to their senses.
From 1992-1996, La Raza got a total of $38 million in "gifts, grants and contributions," and this doesn't even include millions in government fees and contracts. Over three years, 1996-1998, La Raza received over $5 million from just three foundations: the majority – nearly $4 million – from the Ford Foundation, $850,000 from the Carnegie Corporation, and another $850,000 from the Rockefeller Foundation. In 1996, the president of La Raza, Raul Yzaguirre, got over $180,000 in pay and benefits, and his two senior vice presidents got $115,000 and $85,000. Four other employees made more than $50,000.

Yes. it is a very racist organization. the former President Vincente Fox was an integral part of it.. It is bent on taking over the SW U.S. by attrition.. jjst as they are doing now.. It is a sort of silent invasion. To my knowledge, the Mexican Government (even the new president of Mexico) is part of that organization.

l. a. Raza is from the forties and it truly is amazingly racist. it truly is "the Race" in Spanish. it truly is meant as inclusive to Hispanics, quite Mexican human beings, to the exclusion of Anglos. MECHA considers California and different parts of the West as Aztlan, occupied Mexico and progagates seperation from Anglos. l. a. Raza has been energetic considering i am going to bear in mind contained in the 50's In Texas. MECHA in all fairness new in California.

Yes, that would sound totally racist. The most stupid part is they don't have much to be proud of, yet they think their the best. I hope they won't take over America and force us to speak Spanish, bring the education levels down, and cause overpopulation. I'm talkin bout POVERTY.

"1) We are Chicanos and Chicanas of Aztlán reclaiming the land of out birth (Chicano and Chicana Nation); 2) Aztlán belongs to indigenous people, who are sovereign and not subject to a foreign culture; 3) We are a union of free pueblos forming a bronze nation; 4) Chicano and Chicana nationalism, as the key in mobilization and organization, is the common denominator to bring consensus to the Chicano and Chicana Movement; 5) Cultural values strengthen our identity as La Familia de La Raza;"
"Brotherhood unites us, and love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come and who struggles against the foreigner "gabacho" who exploits our riches and destroys our culture. With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. "
Sounds racist to me.

Pretty much, if it wasn't for the fact that Mexico's such a basket case of a country, it might actually be scary...
