I have heard that 75 percent of the world OUTSIDE the U.S. believes in reincarnation. Do you and if you do why?

I'm a Reincarnationist who was born with memories of my recent life, so I know - *absolutely* - reincarnation is real.

Reincarnation is accepted by Judaism and clearly by Jesus, whose ministry focused heavily on reincarnation and karma. But unlike Christianity's modern dogma, "faith" is not a part of reincarnationism, so it really doesn't matter if a person believes in it or not; we all reincarnate. We all reap what we sow.

Those who believe so blindly in modern Christianity lived past lives as Christians. Such people find the idea of Jesus, death and resurrection inexplicably familiar and profoundly personal. These are often the very ones who cite biblical arguments against reincarnation, never realizing the reason they are so caught up in Christianity in the first place, or why 'Jesus' feels like an old friend.

It's kind of amusing, actually.

According to a 2003 poll more than 1/4 of Americans believe in reincarnation (27%).

In another poll, one out of every five Christians believes in reincarnation -- and it's very much a GROWING trend.

First of all, the 75% figure -- I seriously doubt that, given that there are 2 billion Christians in the world and 1 billion Muslims.

Christians and Muslims do not believe in reincarnation. Christians and Muslims put together make up at least half of the world's population.

I do not believe in reincarnation. The Bible is clear (in the Letter to the Hebrews) that human beings live only once in this world.

No. Re-icarnattion doesn't make sense to me. I think it's a horrible thought never to see the people I love here again. Just to be born again and suffer all that loss and pain again and again and again...

I for one, would never want to come back. Besides, the way things look in the world, I don't think there is a whole lotta time left to keep being born again anyway.

I do think there is an afterlife and I also think we did live before, but in an undeveloped spirit, not body. We were more like observers waiting our turn to be born and assume our identity. That may explain why some people have visions of another life. There may be a connection, but it's not us. Our real identity is the one we have now.

I believe in it, because I remember events from one of them. When I was seven years old, I began to have recurring dreams of a place I never saw and a man I was familiar with somehow, but I had not met him.

I now know that the place I was in the dream was France, and it was in the late 18th century, and the man I knew was the Marquis de Sade. Look him up and you'll see that it's not normal for a seven-year-old to know who he is.

I won't tell you what happens in the dreams, because I might get reported, but it's very adult-rated. Again, a seven-year-old having these dreams?

Knowing about this one past incarnation also explains certain personality traits I carry in this life. I fully believe in reincarnation.

P.S. Another reason I believe in it is the theory, or fact, I can't remember which it is, that energy is neither created, nor destroyed. Everything that changes is circular. Souls are no exception.

You look to key onto one sentence and obsess over it, my chum. answer: no longer all Jews concept in reincarnation. some believe the soul reincarnates till one is righteous adequate to affix G-d even as demise. some believe the soul reincarnates till the Messiah/Messianic Age comes round. some do not position self belief in reincarnation in any respect (better of the large-unfold concept).

I do believe in reincarnation. Not sure why. It's something I've always know to be true. I always felt that if you are strongly pulled to something in this life, like study of the Victorian era, it's because you've lived in that time in the past. That's my opinion.

I don't believe in reincarnation. Being a Christian, it defeats the whole purpose of Christ. It is a nice idea to think you can come back and try again, but that would make life too easy wouldn't it?

Yes. I was raised to believe in reincarnation, although I was raised Catholic. It's a heretical form of Catholicism; I'm guessing that one of my ancestors was influenced by Theosophy, or perhaps it's a holdover from pre-Christian times.

No, I don't although I think it would be great to believe that this existed. It would give us all something to look forward too. Instead of believing that once you are dead thats it, pretty grim.
