You don't know how to make good analogies.

The makers of Star Wars never claimed the film to be anything but a work of fiction.

But go to the bookstore, and you won't find the Bible in the fiction section.

People on this board who attack religion and the Bible have a bad habit of making very, very bad analogies. Your Bible-Star Wars analogy is yet another example of this.

ACCORDING TO YOUR THINKING the Tonight Show is the best show on television.
Just because something has the most sales does not mean a thing.
What makes it the truth is the fact that God created the Heavens and the Earth, and everything good in them. And also the fact that everything from Genesis 1;1 to the maps in the back are true.

I don't know if this answers your question or not, but one of the main reasons that I believe in Christianity is that the people who knew Jesus were willing to be tortured to death rather than change their story that they saw Jesus return from the dead.

If the apostles were lying about seeing the resurrected Christ, then why didn't they take back their story when they were individually being tortured to death? Every one of the apostles (Except John, who died a natural death in exile on Patmos), were killed for their faith. Wouldn't a liar recant this story to save his own life?

What did the apostles have to gain by making it all up? What good does fame do for a dead person?

I accept the apostles' story because the witnesses were creditable.

Do you think that people are just now starting to question the authenticity of the bible. It is been tried and failed many times. So, some of you should get a new hobby. Like reading about the validity of the bible not these non-fiction books that have opinions of the bible without any reference material. God is bigger than your propaganda and will ensure the preservation of His word.

If I#m getting this correctly, since the bible is the number one best selling book of all time, and Star wars is the number one best selling book of all time.... Bible is true or star wars is true... ha ha the funny thing is that neither one of them are true, both of them are works of fiction. Well now we all know what sells! On that note they both had great merchandising and focus on beliefs that to average people of average intelligence should seem absurd.

LOL...I think the bible is the truth because of the contents, not the sales rate. But it's nice to know it has the most book sales.

1 The bible is the truth, because it is God's word.

2. popularity, number of book sales mean nothing, if only 1 was sold and the entire world rejected it, it is still true

The second best-selling literature is the Lord of the Rings series. Does that make Hobbits and Elves and Orcs real?
