Why do teenage girls so anxious about getting a boyfriend?Should think of their future first rather than having a boyfriend.

Guys are hot and all of the popular girls have boyfriends...So that's why the rest of us want one. My friends are definetly more important then any boyfriends at the moment so I'm waiting but most girls want a boyfriend because it makes them feel special and loved.

Sociologically, we're a very couple-oriented society. Teenagers are expected to attend dances, go on dates and social outings and especially go to prom. Though going with friends is acceptable in most circles, it is easier to have a steady boyfriend. This eliminates the stress of finding a new date or a group of friends every time one of these events comes around.
Also, the teenage years are very emotionally and physiologically turbulent. It is nice to always have someone around to tell you that you're worthwhile, attractive and socially adept. I was single for a long time in high school and had feelings of rejection, seclusion and felt that I wasn't beautiful enough to attract a significant other. When I got to college I met an amazing man who's been in my life for almost a year now. It didn't take me any extra time to meet him, and I still have a very high GPA.
Don't worry about it, unless it's causing the teenage girl in question serious harm. If her grades are seriously suffering or especially if she's turned to an eating disorder to become more skinny, then you will want to seek further help than Answers.Yahoo can provide.

Girls are so into getting a boyfriend cause the want to feel like they mean to moreto someone else in the world besides just thier family and friends. They also want to be loved by someone else in the world then family and friends.

girls need someone there to talk to.u know that your bf is there for u no matter what. i want someone to love me and cares cuz sometimes friends are not there when you a bf.
