Alot of the old testement includes its history both good and bad,

You of course know this is not the moral lesson it is teaching, but showing the human nature of all men.

And of course we need to teach the children the real moral values and that there are sad people in the world that wishes to twist the words of God for thier own evil purpose

I think that you should teach this lesson and any lesson from the Bible to your children.
This verse do not suggest anyway that it is OK to rape someone if you want to or, even if you love somebody. He wanted to marry Dinah.
Bible tells a lot of horrible stories about people who did not obey God. Think about king David. He was a miserable husband and parent. He did a lot of aw full things. Still, after He repented from his sins and had this incredible optimism about God's forgivenes and love after he had messed up royally, God called him a man after God's own heart. When God forgives us, He will not remind you all the time about your wrong doings. God can use any man, if you are willing to repent from your sins and ask forgivenes.

PS: This your new alias is the creepiest I have seen...I hope you change it soon.

The bible not only contains principles and guidelines by which we should live our lives, but it also contains examples of disobedience and their outcome, and examples of obedience and reliance on Jehovah and the blessings received,
The account of Dinah, serves as a lesson for us.It shows the importance of obeying parents, and watching our association.Dinah was told not to go near the Canaanites
because of their sexual perversion and idolatry. However, she could see no harm in associating with the Canaanite women and the outcome of that
'harmless' association is recorded for us at Gen.34.2
God's word provides guidance for young and old.It is "beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting matters straight and disciplining in righteousness."(2Tim.3:16)

A wise friend of mine made an excellent point one time:
The bible should be rated 'R'
It is entirely inappropriate reading for youngsters.
It is reading designed to influence the thoughts of adults, and to hand a child a book and swear to them that its' contents are infallible truth is irresponsible at best.
Religion and spirituality are concepts to be addressed when a mind is well-enough developed to even conceive of such things.

We should teach our children how bad things are when God is absent from the people. The Old Testament is an excellent history lesson dealing with lack of spirituality quite often.

This verse is just telling us that some guy violated some woman.

It's not telling us that it's OKAY to do this!

When you read of some crime in your local paper, does that mean that the paper is saying that it's OKAY to commit the same crime?

Of course not. What makes you think that the Bible doesn't work the same way?

I don't know, gollum, what sayeth thou? Aren't you that really aweful creature from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy? Didn't you get burnt up chasing the ring into the fiery abyss? I thought middle earth was through of you for good! You nasty little beast! Have you taken to Christian-baiting then, is that it? How simply horrid to hear from you, Gollum, thou foul and bitter soul!

Have you noticed that some things are just reported as facts that happened and not endorsed by the Bible. This would be such a case. I don't see where God said, "Hey fellas, this is what you should do."

That is not a moral lesson, it is a telling of an event. Not a nice event, but it apparently happened.
