Please tell me what signs to look for when the card is kicking the bucket????
I nearly wrecked a job......the images had streaks with no apparent pattern......(on lcd) Thanks-you

I get an error message if there is something wrong with the CF card. You can format it, and see if that helps. The problem you describe sounds more like a camera problem to me.

Reformat the card using your camera, NOT your PC. Take some test shots and look them over. If there's the slightest doubt, junk the card. If it isn't very old, it may be under warranty. If it's a Promaster, it has a lifetime guarantee, so just exchange it at any Pro dealer. I agree with an earlier opinion that you probably have a camera/sensor problem.

The first sign is wrecking a job.
The second sign is the fact that you have question that the card is going bad.

Time to get a new one.
