Israel is the top military force in the middle east. Israel is a leading member of the global economy. Jewish people are powerful and wealthy and are supported by the most powerful nation in the world. Why do they need a messiah? arn't there other people in the world who are more in need of his services?

I agree with Arewethereyet.
also, the messiah will be a great jewish leader and will help instruct people to follow G-d's laws. This is not the case with modern israel. But for the most part you're right, we're excited about messianic times, not so much the messiah himself.

first of all you are mixing up two different things israeli's and jews.
only about 75 % of israel is jewish.
and out of these jews less then half are religious
and those who are and therefore do believe in messiah do not want messiah so that messiah will come and make us a powerful nation or something, they want messiah to help them spiritually so that they can fullfill gods commandments in peace

The Jewish word for Messiah means annointed one. They know the Messiah will be whoever the king is at the time of the age of perfection.

not only Israel but all whether Gentiles or Jews need Messiah bcoz we all predestined to hell becoz of our sins.read John 3:16 thats the reason why Jesus came to die for all of us.It's the only passport to life eternal not eternal death if we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, believe and receive Him in our heart in an heartfelt prayer of invitation.John 1:12,eph.2:9 Romans 5:8

its not only for the Jews.
while it is true that the Messiah will be the King over all of Israel a critical part of his job is to bring world peace and prosparity.
that is something I think that we all could appreciate.

They do not believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah, therefore they await one who will establish an earthly Kingdom and rule. I imagine once the temple is restored he will make his appearance and bring about "world peace", who-hoo. I however, (in my personal belief) look to this same man who will come as the Antichrist and an impostor.

They need one because they do not believe in Democracy. Just kidding, no they need one because they do not believe in themselves or that they can do anything they put their minds to and religion and a messiah are an scape-goat for them. See the Jewish people have faith in themselves and they have faith that God will help them out. Many Jewish people do things for themselves and they know that in order for God to help you, you have to help yourself. That is the problem with many of these countries, they do not believe that they can solve their own problems, but they can.

What do you mean messiah. Do you mean the messiah that has already came - Christ. Or do you mean a messiah as in, the United States protecting her?
