Its ok relax, your cat was just doing what comes instictively,
You can try to get over it by trying to focus on things that make you happy, doing fun stuff with friends and family that will make you forget about it.
I hope this helps
Best Of Luck joe

Realize that what happened is natural instinct for the cat, and not out of the ordinary for a bird. All must eat to survive, and in the cats case, instinct took over for the hunter. You shouldn't be upset about something so natural.
Make a plan now to help some birds out. Start working on a birdhouse or feeder for your yard so the birds will have a place to stay when mating season returns. Make a place to feed the birds, where your cat cannot get to I might add.
Enjoy nature!

Setting up a hummingbird feeder in your backyard and keeping your cat strictly indoors from now on might help you feel better. Both the hummingbirds and kitty will thank you! (Remember that indoor cats are far less likely to get hit by a car or contract diseases and parasites than outdoor ones are.)

The best way to protect backyard birds and wildlife is to keep your pet cat inside. Not to make you feel worse, but cat predation is one of the leading causes of the decline in bird populations worldwide. Cats are not a natural part of ecosystems, yet they have become one of the most prevalent predators in the world. Outside cats are also subject to all kinds of dangers, so keeping them inside is healthier for them too. And no, they won't go crazy from boredom! For more tips on protecting backyard birds and wildlife by keeping pet cats inside, see http://www.charityguide.org/volunteer/fifteen/backyard-birds.htm
Good luck!

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!!!!!!! If you don't want any dead birds around then kill the cat. Then you won't have any more cats killing any birds. You'll have a dead cat instead. Ok. I'll get serious here. Well, as alot of people said, burry the bird. (if u didn't yet) And then kill the cat! And then burry the cat. Or............. glue the dead bird in the dead cat's mouth and then burry them together. That way they'll be friends in animal heaven........because they were stuck together.

Sorry you feel bad. You can put a bell on you cat. Cats do take a heavy toll on birds and wildlife in general. If it bothers you too much your can keep you cat indoors. You will just have to provide him or her with extra activities and toys. Feel better!

Hon! That is the true nature of animals. They hunt and your cat was acting on instinct and u should not be upset because it was doing what animals are made to do. I know it is hard to see a bird die like that but u did what u could and that is all u can do.

Try to get over it. It's called survival of the fittest. If your cat can nail a hummingbird then you either have one bad @$$ cat, or that was one slow hummingbird and was destined to kick it anyway.
