many people talk of sinners being sent to a place of fiery torment forever(hell)...
Wouldn't the couple responsible for all of mankind being sinners deserve a similar judgement? In my study of the bible I have read that they simply ceased to exist...When did God decide to start burning people forever?

yes, they did live for many years more...the judgement : (Genesis 3:19) . . .until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”

God has stated the penalty for disobedience: “The wages sin pays is death” (Ro 6:23). What is “death”? Death is the opposite of life. God had held before man the prospect of endless life on earth if he obeyed. However, he disobeyed, and the penalty was death, unconsciousness, nonexistence. (Psalm 146:4) God had said nothing about transferring man’s life to a spirit realm or to a fiery “hell” if he disobeyed or died. He had warned man: “You will positively die.” It was the man-slaying Devil who had lied in saying: “You positively will not die.” (Genesis 2:17; 3:4; John 8:44) What all men have inherited from Adam is dustlike death.—Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; Psalm 115:17.

But those who go into that nonexistent state should not flatter themselves with the thought that they are experiencing a salvation from life or existence. They are undergoing a punishment and are missing the eternal happiness of perfect life in God’s new world. “ … but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom.

>>>many people talk of sinners being sent to a place of fiery torment forever(hell)...<<<

Sinners don't go there. UNREPENTANT sinners do. And they are not sent there. They go there by their own choice.

>>>Wouldn't the couple responsible for all of mankind being sinners deserve a similar judgement?<<<

Not if they repented and sought God's mercy.

>>>In my study of the bible I have read that they simply ceased to exist...<<<

They probably died, just like everybody else.

>>>When did God decide to start burning people forever?<<<

Never. God doesn't burn anybody, and He doesn't even send people to hell. People essentially send themselves there, by deliberately turning away from God.

Adam and Eve never ceased to exist. They lived a long time, and then died. Nobody knows if they repented of their sins or not. If they did, which I think they probably did, then they went to Heaven. Yes, the Bible teaches about eternal punishment. When a person dies, they either go to Heaven or Hell.

well, if this is the christian version....why do women that are hindu and native american and the (former) Romans and those tribes in africa, etc all have childpain?? heck, why do Atheists have childpains if they don't even believe in all that stuff.....why should the whoooole world and other religions suffer because of "Eve" (they got the name wrong in the translations anyway)

people, come on. all women don't have pain from having children because some lady or man a few thousand years ago ate an apple.........they have pain because something "yay" big is trying to fit through a hole "yay" small---common sense.

besides, if a snake came up to me and started talking "whatever language" 'adam' and 'eve' spoke, i'd be on prozac.....LOL

Where did you read that they simply ceased to exist?

Do you not think that being banned from the presence of God, sent into the wilderness and made to live off the land punishment enough? Are they not also allowed to repent their sins?

since they ate of the forbidden fruit eve and adam knew they were naked and one thing eve would have to do is bare the pain of childbirth... and adam would have to work with his hands...i do not believe that those that believe in the lord will ever see the fiery torment.. we will all be judged when jesus , god , comes back for us and we will be judged for our deeds here on earth... but john 3 16 says whosoever believeth in me shall have everlasting life...we have to seek the lord , read the bible, and do our best to live for god... but we all have sinned and come short of the glory of god...but we must try and live for the lord if we believe in him.. and a lot of things in this world today is sin and we should flee from the adversities of the devil...those that do not believe and do not have the spirit of god will be the ones that burn in the lake of fire...

God had an original plan...it is all through the Bible...He intended for man (and woman) to make their own choices in life...choose His way and you escape...choose your own way and you don't...
He did not change anything...i don't know that i subscribe to the fiery hell that most do...i see hell as more of a cutting off...cast from His presence, rather than a burning...i just know that i don't want to have to worry about whether i would literally burn or not...AND He knows we are human and cannot do everything HIS way only...we are to just strive for that....

Their punishment was separation from God and absolutely without a shadow of doubt, they KNEW what they did was evil in the sight of GOD. Because they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and in a sense, became very much like GOD. Only God knows what is good and evil. We grasp at straws because of Adam and Eve's sin. We are separated from GOD unless we allow The Holy Spirit possesses us.

Eviction from the garden of eden for eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
the greast idea of torment is the absentse from God.
the christian version of hell comes from the caladean peoples relegion.
others believe you will only go to purgatory for a time until the sin is removed from your soul(different ideas on that to).

They got kicked out of heaven (meaning the garden) and therefore they became "human". They became mortal. They sarted to have their needs "felt" like hunger, thirst, being tired, and sexual desires. In heaven, they never felt hungry or thirsty. They only ate because they wanted to and everything was provided. They didn't have to work for anything. They felt the dark sides of human emotions like anger, jealousy, and hatred.
