Why should the USA try to boost the Mexican economy if it isn't in their best interest? Why can't the Mexican people do anything to help their own country out instead of running away?

Mexico's laws are much stricter for immigrants there. Prospective immigrants must possess a significant amount of money to invest, speak Spanish, have a degree and/or skill. Furthermore, they cannot own oceanside property and any property owned is considered "on lease." No American flag waving. You must prove you won't be a drain on the governement. Nope, won't work.

I don't think they should punish people just because they are on welfare. I'm not saying that Mexico is a horrible place, but there must be reasons why everyone is trying leave there.

I think the correct answer on that one is 'abolish welfare, and enforce the borders'. It'll restore some semblance of a functional work ethic to the american public, and it'll help guide Mexico's future to the place it needs to go most, self-sufficiency.

Well, that's true, and it could work but, I know it sounds selfish, what about us? We're almost 8 trillion dollars in debt....how would we pay for them? And if they don't want to go? What would it do for our economy? It looks like this question's answer, is only a billion more questions.

LOL interesting approach. I would gladly trade a deadbeat for a hard working immigrant.
