My cat has been vets and had two injections, one to reduce swelling and one antibotic plus one weeks course, but he keeps opening the wound on his neck, (was just a small scatch to begin with/cat fight). I put plasters to stop him scratching it, but they sometimes come off! I know some of our medical stuff can't be used on animals and wondered if Sodocream is OK Or anything else someone can suggest I would really appricate, Thanks

Sodocream is okay, sometimes i use a light spread of germolene! Do not use anything else though, not without checking with your own veterinary surgeon first. Try using an old sock with the toes cut out as a sleeve for his neck over the wound. But try to cover the wound with some lint/cushioning first before using the sock.

No don,t use this as the cat as it can poison them self when licking the sore. Go to your vets and get a cat coller and if he is fighting allot with other cats then maybe he needs to be done as this could stop him from fighting as much. As for the sore, your best bet is to take him to the vets and let the vet take a swab to find out what infection is thus getting him the correct A&BS.
Hope this helps

Do not EVER use human medication on animals- what cures us can kill them.. You need medication from a vet, who is aware of what will work on your cat. Sudocrem is for people, not purries!! Perhaps your vet can loan you a collar to stop him getting at the wound. He may look a bit daft wearing it, but they do the trick!! Good Luck.

hi there, if the wound keeps opening then the only answer is to go back to your vet, i know it's tempting to try and help them with our creams , but they might have a bad reaction to the cream then that would make matters worse and even people can be allergic to plasters! so sweetheart go back to your vet as soon as you can, only they know what they are doing . we don't. so i wish you the best of luck with your lovely cat. bye

If a vet is not requierd then I would suggest that u leave it alone as cats are very clean animals and it will take care 2 keep it that way , but if it doesn`t seek advice .

i used sudocreme on my cat, when she kept scratching the back of her neck til it was sore, it was weeping so i tryed the cream and told the vet and she seid it was fine, as long as you keep an eye on the wound and keep it clean. i would however suggest not placing elasta plasts or other sticky bandages as when coming to removing them you could hurt the cat. (like having gum in your hair) or even it may have a allergic reaction.

'Sodocream' sounds like a medicine for people with more money then sense. Take your cat to a VET do what the VET says. VETs get paid a lot of money to keep pets healthy! (apart from the ones who 'treat' lil poochy woochy for her lil feety weetys).
