It's a make believe story. There were many books written about this so called "deity" that watches over us and takes care of us and knows everything blah blah blah. But when has it ever, EVER showed any proof of its existence. Only like thousands of years ago right. But what about today - there is absolutely no proof no reason for normal thinking people to believe this fairy tale. And I know some people will say "Well god doesn't work that way, he doesn't need to show himself to nonbelievers" . Well let me tell those people that they are idiots for believing in this crap. WAKE UP PEOPLE! RELIGION IS FOR THE WEAK! IT'S A SCAM!

There is so much more to live for than some imaginary being. Take ahold of your life and start living it instead of wasting your time with this nonsense.

You don't understand. Rational people don't worship God in the first place.

I went through a "non-believer" phase in highschool and argued every conceivable point on this issue. But questions remain: where did everything you can see, hear, smell, taste, and feel come from? Who or what created the energy that composes matter? Any logical person could NOT rule out the possibility of God's existence until these questions are definitively answered. I do understand though, why some people would question the existence of a being capable of perpetual love, unlimited forgiveness, and omnipotence...such qualities combined are unthinkable in the human form. Even so, however, the fact that something is unbelievable doesn't mean it isn't real. Bottom line: I may not be able to prove his existence, but no one can disprove it either...also, in the future, a little tact might go a long way when you want to convince someone your point of view is correct.

I don't believe in any God but to each his own. I would not dismiss the Bible as totally make believe. You know Mohammed, whom the Islamic faith is based around, is an actual person and even Muslims admit Jesus existed. They just didn't follow his beliefs. So there is some truth in thsoe old tales that emerged out of the Middle East.
I agree organized religion is for the weak and it's a total scam, but all religions are interesting to figure out why the hell did people believe that back then...or even now. I mean, the Aztecs used to sarifice people in huge numbers to appease a Sun god. Mindboggling. Plus without religion, we would never of had the movie "Life of Brian" which is super hilarious and laughter is something we all need to do more of.

A rational mind wouldn't subscribe to a contrived deity (the Christian God, FSM, Poseidon, Zeus, etc.) I agree with you that much. The problem is with your conclusion that a higher power does not exist.
I argue with Bible thumpers all the time because they base their empirical belief in "God" on faith alone and then try to push their fairy tale on the rest of the world. At the same time, no self respecting scientist would conclude that "god", in any form, does not exist.
With your knowledge, can you conclude, beyond any doubt, that a planet outside of our solar system, populated by flying monkeys and talking frogs does not exist? Surely, you could doubt it. That would be reasonable. However, a logical mind would never conclude that this planet does not exist. The reason being, it's not a testable or falsifiable contention.
Do you see what I'm getting at? God could indeed exist in any form. No one can logically make a case for his/her/its absence.
Let people believe what they want. Don't tear their faith apart until they try to stuff it down your throat. Once that happens, the gloves come off.
I guess I'm meeting you half way.

You equate religion and God as being the same. Wrong! Religion was invented by mankind to gain control over others in order to get them to do what they wanted. God is the creator of the universe and all that it contains. There is a happy medium. Life with no God is very insecure. Life with an understanding that God is within everything ever created just makes life easier. Of course you are free to believe what you wish, even if some ******* will try to make you think otherwise. I used to let my bitterness towards the contradictive religious freaks of the world influence my belief in a God. Then I realized that God is whatever I want it to be and I want it to be me, so it is. I am God. You are God and even the tards who hate us for our opposing beliefs are God, although on a lesser level because they only contribute to hate. If you add an extra o to God you get Good. That's all anyone can ever hope to be isn't it?

I won't try to force my views on anyone because the decision to believe in whatever is not for me to dicate.
The question of god existing or not, what does it matter? We are a small planet in a universe that ONLY 50 years ago (thanks to Einstien) have begun to understand. So the opinions of 300 million people of whether god exists or not doesn't even make a dent in the universe. Who are we? we are just a species living on a planet that had all the right conditions to create life.
Is it possible that God exists? sure it's very much possible, but it's also possible that everything happend by chance and we as humans have to give everything meaning in order to feel comfortable and secure.
I don't believe its for any body to debate whether there is a god or not because we're just a grain of sand compared to the rest of what's out there. If god created Earth then he surely created everything beyond Earth so why should our opinions matter?
Anything is a possiblity. Issac Newton didn't discover gravity because the answer was either black or white, he discoverd gravity by seeing the possibilites of what it can do..

I believe. You are correct as to why I believe as well. I'm just as frail as any human could be I suppose and I get comfort in believing. It's the only thing that ever made sense to me. Everything else seems like the illusion and frankly nothing seems to matter one way or the other in the greatness of time. I don't bother with organized religion, I've never found one that fit yet. I do like the ladies I've meet over the years that are Church but I'm not going to play along with the dance of the Christians just to satisfy more earthly needs. If only it were that easy.

"What If" by Nichole Nordeman
What if you're right
He was just another nice guy
What if you're right
What if it's true
They say the cross will only make a fool of you
And what if it's true
What if He takes His place in history
With all the prophets and the kings
Who taught us love, and came in peace
But then the story ends
What then
But what if you're wrong
What if there's more
What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for
What if you jump
Just close your eyes
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise
What if He's more than enough
What if it's love
What if you dig
Way down deeper than your simple-minded friends
What if you dig
What if you find
A thousand more unanswered questions down inside
That's all you find
What if you pick apart the logic
And begin to poke the holes
What if the crown of thorns is no more than fokelore that must be told
And retold
But what if you're wrong
What if there's more
What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for
What if you jump
Just close your eyes
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise
What if He's more than enough
What if it's love
'Cause you've been running as fast as you can
You've been looking for a place you can land
For so long
But what if you're wrong
What if you jump
Just close your eyes
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise
What if He's more than enough
What if it's love
What if it's love

We live on a planet teeming with life. Plant life with approximately 250,000 species. Animal life with over a million species. Scientist are learning just how complex life is. So complex that it requires design. The evidence of design requires a designer. Scientists are also learning the conditions for life, just how perfect conditions here on planet Earth are to support all this life.
To think, people believe this all happened by chance. Yes the odds are 1 in 1(with a billion trillion zeros behind it). Yes it is a belief by many that this all just happened by chance. That belief takes a greater faith than believing in a Creator. A virtual impossibility is an impossibility.

Go to Jerusalem to the Holy Sepulchre for the miracle of the Holy Fire on Orthodox Pascha (Easter) or to Mount Tabor on the eve of the Feast of the Transfiguration, then having SEEN the wonders which still continue in our day and age, tell me there is no God.
