Christianity so "accepted" considering it is a fairly new religion compared to South Asian religions which have an extensive history, spanning over Christianity.

You're right, there are hundreds of religions in the world. Each one of them claims to be the only way.

It is possible that my religion is the only real one, and all the rest of the people are going to hell, even though they had no opportunity to know about this religion. But the possibility also exists that my religion is not the true one. Another possibility exists that none of the religions are true.

One must also see why we call other religions false, while people of those religions call ours false. This quote by Stephen F Roberts come to mind- “I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
Finally, The cow thing, you are to India. India is agrarian and the cow plays a very important role in everyday life of the farmer. The cow represents purity and is part of many religious ceremonies, but nobody worships cows. In Hinduism everything is considered to be part of the divine and hence there is great respect for all forms of life.

Forget religion.
Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.

religion is a crutch for human condition.
hard to accept christianity too. The bible is full of vague contradictions.

Hmmmm. I dont think that Cows are going to perform Miracles in your life..
I know God (The Christian one) has in Mine!!!
Also "Christianity" "Per-Sey" is not that New..
If you believe in Christianity, Adam was the first man, and God was there with him; and then with Able and Noah and Moses and So on......
So the Label of "Christianity" is new...
But the God of Christianity is said to be Eternal !

Don't be confused by calling Christianity a religion. It is not a religion it is a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. God came to earth as a man because we sinners (everyone has lied, stolen or thought a bad thought) could never be sinless enough to go to Heaven so God came in the form of man because He was the only perfect being to be able to take away sins. NO MAN can take away your sins - no priest, no rabbi, no minister - NOBODY except God Himself because even priests, rabbis and ministers are sinners too. If they say that they can, they are liars. Only God can take away your sins because He is sinless. So, if you accept the payment of sin (Jesus' sacrifice), you too can go to Heaven to be with the Lord. Accept religion and you will go the Hell.
Religion is man's way of trying to work their way to Heaven by their good works/deeds. Why do you think that the calendar of years changed once Christ was born? If you say that you do not believe in Jesus, don't mark down a date because you will be lying.
Yes, religion has been around for thousands of years because man has been trying to work their way to Heaven by their deeds. Religion may impress man but it does nothing to impress God - God hates religion. That is precisely why God had to come to earth to become sin for us because we could never outdo His worth / truth or sacrifice. He took your sins to the cross to pay for your sins and now you may accept His sacrifice free of charge because it has been paid for for you. That is the truth and whether you believe me or not, it is entirely up to you. Seek the Lord and He will be your answer. Thank you for your question.
