The amount of misinformation here is amazing.

Never try to freeze any type of whisky...and not because it lowers the alcohol content, because it doesn't. The cold masks the subtle flavors in the whisky. Ice cold for scotch would just be wrong, and your kitchen freezer probably isn't cold enough to get it to a 'jelly' consistency anyway. If you did manage to get it that cold, it would turn cloudy with chill haze and lose some of it's brightness and flavor.

Johnnie Walker Green is vatted single malt scotch.
Mixing it with anything would be like buying a filet mignon and smothering the whole thing in cheap ketchup. It would be a total waste of good scotch. If you want to mix it, buy cheaper scotch...not $40-$60 Walker.

You drink scotch one of four ways.
1. With club soda as a mixer. Do that with this scotch and you are crazy.
2. Rocks. Again, as the ice melts it waters it down, and as this is a scotch made for sipping and enjoying, a glass full of ice is a very poor choice.
3. Neat. No ice, room temperature. That's what this whisky was designed for.
4. The professional's choice...neat, no ice, but just a few drops of water added. If you know scotch, this will really bring out aromas that you didn't know were there.

Try it, but when it's all said and done, do what works best for you. The point is to enjoy yourself.

Cheers.

Putting it in the freezer lowers the alcohol in the booze (that's why bars never keep liquor in the freezer). I would just pour it in a "old fashioned" heavy bottomed glass, about 3/4" full, add a couple of cubes of ice, and sip it.

In a glass with ice. You would have to have a really cold freezer to get it cold enough to become jelly like. I have never been able to get liquer to freeze but beer will freeze. Not enough alcohol content.

The only way to drink whisky is to put it in a whisky sour or drink it straight. To make a whisky sour, use one shot whisky to 4-6 ounces of sour mix with ice. To drink straight, pour one shot in a glass, add a few drops of tap water or a couple of ice cubes, and enjoy! :)
