My boyfriends unit was on orders to deploy to Iraq June 06. They put a stop loss in effect in March06. His unit has been "delayed indefinately". Is there a certain period of time that if they do not deploy they must lift the stop loss? His has served 8 years and should be done September of this year. He has already served one yearlong tour.

I had read that stop loss could be put in effect 90 days prior to deployment, and the 90 days are up.

If anyone has any experience with this or knows the policies, I would sure appreciate any answers.

"Delayed indef" means they are in limbo. They are still under stop loss, but no date has been reset for deployment yet. If his MOS is not too short he might be able to work some majic, but he'll need to know some folks in high places for that. IF there's a question, why not just ask personnel or 1Sgt?

no, there is no time limit to stop loss, nor is there a time frame when it can be implemented. If SL is still in effect for his unit or MOS in September, he may not seperate.
