My leg hurt after he rammed into it, so I can assume it hurt him. Right after we collided he was breathing heavily for a few secs, then sneezed. THen he seemed okay aside from being scared. Now I am watching him every second... we checked his pupils they seem fine, and checked his capillary response... also fine. He does seem a little lethargic though. Do you think he just is a little scared and maybe a headache, or something more. Thanks so much!

LOL, sorry to laugh, but my cats are always running into things. I think its kinda funny. Their skulls are much harder then our legs, so don't worry. You know when we get hit in the nose and our eyes water if its hard enough? Thats kinda what the sneezing is. As long as hes breathing normally now, and eats and drinks, hes ok. My cat tried to get outside the other day, and she ran really hard into my foot when I tried to block her, she sneezed for quite awhile and was a little mad at me, but she got over it.

I think the cat may have experIEnced a slight concussion. Feel around for unusual lumps. But if you were to run into something pretty hard you would probably be a bit woozy and lethargic also. Best bet, keep an eye on him just like you are doing..if he appears a bit more lethargic than what you are experiencing now, weed out all the possibilities (ie has he eaten and thrown up or anything unusual). If he appears stable, simply call the vet in the morning. If he doesn't, bring him to a 24 hour vet hospital...call first they may be able to ask you other questions to determine if you should really bring him in. Good luck.

They have very hard heads, my cat ran into a wall and we could here the thump, he had the same symptoms as your cat by the sound of it. we kept an eye on him for a while but the next day he was as crazy as ever. If he continues to be lethargic then you should prob get him checked, but if not just watch out in the future and put ice on your leg.

Odds are he's just fine. Sounds like you're checking all the right things. Just keep an eye on him, make sure he's playing, eating, etc. -- not breathing funny. If he seems normal in a couple of hours -- I'm sure he's fine. He'd have had to hit you REALLY hard to hurt his skull. I'd also guess he was breathing hard because he was running fast enough to ram you hard enough to hurt you.

Good luck.

Sorry, but I laughed a bit at the thought of kitty charging at you. I have 3 cats and never had the problem. I'd keep an eye on your cat and make sure nothing too wierd is going on. Also, I'd call a vet just to make sure. You can tell them what's up and they might reccomend that you bring your cat in.

I play rough with my cats and usually they end up ok. I never had a problem thus far. My cat loves to fly across the room on the scattered carpets. He, one time flew so hard that he slammed into the sliding glass door. I took him to the vet but the DR. said sometimes cats push their limits.

Your leg is probably somewhat flexible so I would think he'd be fine as your leg probably gave somewhat after he ran into you so don't worry and just keep an eye on your cat and if he starts acting unusual take him to a vet.

you could take him to the vet but chances are he will be fine.. cats seem to be able to take a lot.. i just have a kitten and she can really get into some things and she does fine...but if she does not act better in a few hours i would consider calling the vet...

animals are a lot tougher than we give them credit for. Plus, the head is the strongest part of the body. It probably hurt your leg more than it hurt his head. If he still seems stange in a few hours, take him to the vet. But I wouldn't worry about it.

of course he is! its not like he is made of glass, my cats well kittens do back flips off the top shelf of my 9 foot book shelf to try and body slam their mom and most the time the miss and hit the floor or the table and my cats don't always land on their feet like rumored. your cat is fine, if he shows any signs of a problem take him to the vet if ur still concerned
