What kind of a prophet wastes that much electricity? He was mean, people, he wanted you to pay more tax money for the electricity. With a prophet like that, who needs enemies?
Why follow someone with such vile intentions? Stop believing in that concept, people, wake up and smell the coffee!
P.S. sanstheism, we all admire you, but some don't realise it yet, and are still thumping bibles on your head. But wait: someday they will stop, and start admiring you instead. Been through it, still waiting for admiration... :)

That would be a remarkable torch, or candle, or even oil lamp. Wasteful yes, but I think the fire hazard would have been of greater concern. I suspect this rumor may be false, Jesus was pretty responsible as children of diety's go.

His lights got shut off by the electric company because he was out fooling around in the desert and didn't pay his light bill.

Or so unsure about your faith votes that you need to ask, or what is this constant bible and Jesus asking?...
The only waste is your 5pts for raising this question up...
While I take this 2 pts, for letting you know...

Well he does say to let your light shine at all times so it's a possibility, but I don't think they needed to flex the power back then. Maybe flex their oil

If he left it on in Michigan, the power company would have shut off his juice, because he would have missed his monthly payment.
