94 W out of Detroit. If you don't want to go thru the forever road construction around Chicago, then go to 69 S. to Indianappolis and then 74 west out of Indianappolis to 39 at Peoria, Ill, then north to I-90 which goes thru some beautiful country...S. Dakota, then Wy, then Mt, thru Idaho, Oregon then to Wa.
If you don't mind the Chicago construction, then 94 thru down town Chicago up to I-90 just north of Madison WI. Then continue west.

From Seattle to Detroit? By plane or if not by train, you must connect at Chicago.

On an airplane. But if you're driving, I would take I-90.
