I think it would depend on who started it. I know that we are supposed to turn the other cheek but sometimes children have a problem if they get hit by someone. If the other child did hit first, I think I would have your son to read out loud to you about retaliating in Luke 6:29. If, on the other hand, if your son started it; march him over to the neighbors and have him apologize to the other boy. Then, do whatever you need to do as a parent. I hope this helps.

You need to sit your son down and talk to him. tell him that his behavior is unacceptable. Bringing the bible in it will probably not help in this situation but it wont hurt. You need to ground him and make him learn that his behavior is not right. Why did he do that? did you find that out. Make him do some community service or do housework. Either way nip the behavior quickly or else you and him will mich bigger issues to deal with in the future.

First I'd beat the snot out of my kid, then I'd read him Matthew 5:39-48, Read the entire story not just part of one verse.

He would be in BIG trouble--unless the other kid started it or had been bullying him for a long time. And the Luke scripture was a story about a king that Jesus told. Jesus said to turn the other cheek.

I would punish him and explain why his behavior was wrong, backing it up with Scripture. I would ALSO require him to turn in a one-page essay every day for a week, using a Bible verse that he found himself to explain why his behavior is wrong.

YOur are reading it out of context. Read the whole chapter, and I dont have to worry about my kid beating the daylight out of someone, except in this case I would let him beat the crap out of you for asking a dumb question.

Then I would take everything away from him and not give him any privileges, such as watching television, going out with friends until he earned each one back. That is just not normal behavior.

I think "Do unto others as you want them to do unto you" would more immediately leap to mind here.
You've taken the verse you cited so badly out of context that it isn't funny.
