I am a Goddess! I enjoy being worshipped, but would never dream of demanding it! For that would be unbecoming of a Goddess don'tcha think!!!
Blessed Be...

An omnipotent god would not require worship of any kind, because to require something would mean a need, which indicates a lack. An omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient god would not need love because it would BE love, endless and infinite. If we were to think about the word worship in a different context, more like follow and align ourselves with the energy that is god, that is love, and BE as much like god as you can, choosing your thoughts with purpose to evolve towards the god which is invested IN you and IS you, that would make more sense perhaps (to some). Only the dull-minded think of god as a separate being, because that is still to some degree making god into man. God could not be what the mainstream Christians believe, because if that were true, faeries, unicorns, Zeus, Hercules, and all other manner of fantasy would also be as plausible. The vain being that demands worship is mankind. He is so vain that he believes even his creations must be worshiped.

Why would God want to be adored? That sounds so wrong doesn't it. To human thinking it is - BUT WAIT! MANKIND LOVES TO BE ADORED, ADMIRED and Worshiped!
People clamor to be the Next American Idol and get a fan base going - and trust me, they get really ticked off when people don't admire them or like their music.
Actors, Musicians, Scientists (yes they have a fan base too of intellectuals) and the list goes on. Even so called everyday people love awards and recognition.
So how dare we point a finger at God? Are people mad at God for stealing their thunder? God made us -so should the thing that was made dare steal his thunder? In light of this hard information.., You be the judge on that one.

Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God **HAS** to be worshipped!!! He Is the Supreme Being & Ultimate Reality of the whole universe.
Its not a matter of what God Wants, it is a matter of what WE need to do, & that is worship Our Heavenly Father.
It is not vanity on the part of Our Heavenly Father for us to worship Him. Rather, it is vanity & pride on **OUR**parts to refuse or deny Him worship.
Moreover, worshipping Our God is not a 1-way relationship. We receive a Kind Of Devotion From Him in return: Agape. That is the Love God Has for all His children.

No true God would need to be worshipped. Especially not an all-powerful God.
Christians who believe that God wants us to sing praises to Him for eternity are crazy. God has a greater purpose than this.

A true god wouldn't need or require worship. That is why the god contructed by priests is as petty and neurotic and bloodthirsty as those that dreamed him up. Such a travesty. Such a sad statement for our species - that we have not outgrown such mind destroying nonsense and mentaly enslavement.
Get me a ticket on the next ship off-planet. I've seen enough - they ain't gettin' it!

Since neither you nor I are Him, and we have not created a universe, and a people, I suppose that we'll never know. It is for certian that you will get to see the displeasure of that same God in the end, if your question reflects your real attitude towards Him.

God is lonely. When we worship God we choose to spend time wiht God and in God's pressence and it makes God feel good. Just like when our friends and loved ones choose to spend time with us.
