I think that the bible and all the other ancient stories are all the same story told around the world - customized for different cultures and geographical locations. Each one has local people as the star of the story, to bring the point home about how it is talking to YOU.

I am sure that Adam and Eve figure in each of our minds as our own race - just as Jesus and God do too. I think the writers of the stories never mention the race or ethnicity either because they feel it is implied or they want the reader to customize it in their own mind.

Peace!

To my knowledge there is NOTHING to indicate Adam and Eve were white.

The basic color of all races (including white) has to come from a common root -BROWN.., not black. The Caucasian skin is not actually white but a very light shade of tan.., again.., brown being the root color.

Depending on where people migrated in the world they either became darker or lighter adjusting to their environment. Hence you have all races coming from a Brown - Adam and Eve.

Well, according to biology and the laws of adaptation, different people's skin adapted to better suit their environment. African skin is pigmented to accomodate sun better than Alaskan skin. North American and Europeans are different skinned due to their climate.

According to religion, the Lord made many species of animals and humans as well. He created each according to His will alone.

Oh, and by the way, the story originated in the Garden of Eden, between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, which is smack dab in the middle of Iraq, FYl.

Also, just incase you were wondering, the story of Adam and Eve did not involve incest. It clearly states that after they had more children:
Genesis 4:25 Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."
Genesis 5:1 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.

It clearly states that Adam had many more sons and daughters, not just boys.

Whatever gave you the idea that Adam and Eve were white? Scientists have traced the mitochondrial DNA back far enough to know that everybody started out VERY dark skinned. When people began to move and travel to different climates and different lands. they had to change and adapt. I hope this helps.

A lot of time took place between the birth of Jesus and the Creation. A lot of time!

Many, including me, believe they were of middle eastern roots. I have also heard they were black. I think that is too far fetched.

The idea that they were white was made by painters and artists through the years. They depicted people of their own race as the Holy Family.

When you go over to Jeruselem and other places Jesus traveled during his life, you will see what "normal" middle easterners look like.

Jesus was discribed as average in looks, and did not "stand out" among the other people of his time. This just reinforces my belief that Jesus was of Isrealie AND Jewish decent.

1. Adam and Eve did not exist, so the color of non-existing entities is quite irrelevant. Adam and Eve are the product of the myths, superstitions, delusions and fairy tales of a bunch of ignorant peripatetic Bronze Age goat herders and fishermen.

2. There is only one 'race'... the 'human' race... Homo Sapiens.

The Bible does not specify the skin color of Adam and Eve.

God separated the nations at the Tower of Babel.

Man thought if they built themselves up high enough they could get themselves to Heaven and be as God.
Sounds a little like today doesn't it?
It's all about "me"?.............

The Bible never says their race. They were depicted as white by Renaissance-era artists, and it kind of stuck. Most likely they were in between dark and light skin tone, because the ethnicities of the world are at either end of the spectrum and in the middle (a "brown" tone).

The Bible never mentions anything about Adam and Eve's ethnicity.

Adam and Eve weren't real. It's impossible that so much incest could have populated the earth with out serious mental retardation.
