Religion, is what you make of it and what you feel that is right in you mind and heart. It is not what someone tells you it is, or how or when to worship, or even why you should worship a certain god, being, or even idol if you will. It all comes down to what you feel is right for you and what you believe in. Yes, I agree with you that religion is confusing, and it's not going to get any better. But the one thing that I have learned in all my years, is that once you find what you are happy with, then and only then will you be happy with yourself. I wish you well in your search.

The answer I found is talking to and listening for God. if the practices of Islam help you praise Allah. If the meditation of an easter religion help OHMMM. If viewing the as alive with spirits of our ancestors helps....soar on eagles wings.
I am Christian my Spirit connects with the one and only God through the Christian testement and following the teachings of Christ and His disciples.
Doing the right thing is good and nobel. Doing the right thing for the right reason is righteous and holy.
Your relationship wiht God is individual and personal. Religion and religious teachings and practices are there to help you understand and focus. It is between you and God what is right for you.
Journey forth seeking God and you will find God and we will meet in Paradise.

It's good to be confused about religion, it shows that you actually have the capacity to think critially.
Religion is a man made institution, it's an attempt to control ones surroundings and answer questions about the unknown. It's unnessecary and can be dangerous as well.
Do yourself and society at large a favor and kick religion all together.

My advice to you is: DO NOT E-MAIL PEOPLE YOU DO NOT KNOW, WITH YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS PERIOD.
Islam is the very nature of man. It is the religion and the path chosen by Almighty Allah for mankind so that they may gain happiness in this life and Paradise in the next life. Islam is not a religion in the common and distorted sense, for it does not confine its scope to one's private life. It is a complete way of life and is present in every field of human existence. Islam provides guidance for all aspects of life—individual and social, material and moral, economic and political, legal and cultural, and national and international. The teachings of Islam are simple and intelligible. Now what do you believe?

We all question issues of faith at times. Christians are human and will always make mistakes, when I am searching for God I pray and read my Bible. Don't look to man for an example of faith you will be disappointed. The Bible states that God is love, at the core of that is his wish for the best life for humans, just as a good parent corrects a child sometimes God has done so with His people. Don't give up simply search for the truth.

You should be confused by it because organised religion is the biggest fraud of all time. There is no true religion. It's all fake. Look at all the rich preist, pastors, ministers, and sheikhs. Where do you think all your tithes and zakat really go?

Islamic terrorism is inspired by Islamic teachings. We can never get rid of Islamic terrorism unless we defeat the ideology behind it and that is Islam itself. Islam induces hate backed by lies. Muhammad was a terrorist by his own admission. All Muslims, to the extent that they follow him, are terrorists. Those Muslims who are not terrorists are ignorant of Islam and are not good Muslims. Fortunately they are the majority. We need to rescue them. If you are a good human being, you are not a Muslim. Read this site and if you can't prove me wrong, which you certainly can't, leave this deceitful cult of hate and terror and join mankind. Don't be part of the Umma. Umma is fascism. It is divisive. It induces the hatred of others. Be part of humanity instead. Your ignorance is not an excuse. Pull your head out of the sand and face the truth, like we did.
