Sex is for pair bonding.
Humans have extreme pronatalism (prolonged childhood), longer than any other species, even those that live longer than we do!
We have to form pairs to take care of the little anklebiters for literally decades! So ma and pa have to have some incentive for sticking around while the progies are learning to tie their shoes and use profanity.
The answer that evolution came up with was "good sex." The longer a couple stays at it, the better it gets. That's a great reason to stay around when the teenager is giving you dirty looks.

If it wasn't fun, less people would do it, and we'd have less population. It is pleasurable because it is necessary for the survival of the race and it encourages people to have sex. It's true that most people have sex now for recreation than procreation, but, that's a bonus.

Sex is not just for procreation. What about the infertile husband or wife? Are they never allowed to have sex because they are incapable to procreate? Read Song of Solomon. God made us sexual creatures. He wants us to enjoy it. Read Psalms. But only in the context of marriage. If outside of marriage, then God will judge you.
