Get some advantage from the Vet ASAP and treat the mother cat. Do not treat the kittens until they have reached the required weight . The fleas that the kittens have will usually also feed on the mother and as soon as they do they will die. Treating just the mother cat at this time should take care of the flea problem after a week or so, but you have to use the systemic treatment like advantage. Good luck.

No not all kittens are born with fleas!!!!!!!! Only if you do not treat the mother before they are born!!!!!!!!! You should not let a cat have kittens if flea control is lacking!!! Kittens die from flea anemia pretty often!!!!
I am a vet tech at a cat shelter and we have put Advantage on kittens 3 weeks old LOTS of times!!!! It is better than dying of anemia!!!!!!! You will need to treat the mom and any kittens, cats, and dogs in the house for three months in a row to break the cycle, since they are all in the carpet and furniature!!!

Then please spay the mom!!!!!!!!! Kittens do not deserve to be brought into the world covered with fleas!!!

And keep in mind, you will now have to deal with the tapeworm issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT use powders or flea collars!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe that anyone still uses powder!!! That will kill kittens too!!!!!!!!

Use flea powder, it will be good for the kittens because it wont give them a cold like water can, and the mother cat wont need to get wet either, the best part about powder is that if the mom licks it off it digests so that it wont poison the milk.

One person hold cat by nap of neck like mommy does kittens. Have towel handy. Run luke warm bath. have flea soap. Pour flea stuff over cat even if it means getting some on person holding said cat. Head to tail. scrub cat in bath water. lift cat out of water and wrap in towel. Leave cat in bathroom until dry. You however can leave bathroom.

All kittens are born with fleas. It is safe to wait 6 weeks to wash them and pour vinegar on them and rinse. It is dangerous to dip them or use chemicals till they get at least 6 weeks to two months.

The kittens are old enough now that you can get one af the flea medication to put on everyone. Like advantage/frontline or such. Call your vet.

give them all a flea bath...use Dawn dishwashing soap or Garnia for permed or color treated hair, use both the shampoo and the conditioner. This is what we use on our cats and our labrador...IT WORKS!
