I have moved 22 times in my life
and am only 22,
so that averages to about 1 move per year.
Therefore I know what I'm taking about when I say
that I always have mixed emotions.
I love adventure;
discovering a new town
and learning all the unique things to do there.
I also love making new friends!
But I am also sad because
I will be leaving my other friends behind
and will no longer be able to do the unique activities
in that town again unless I visit
(which just isn't the same).

Any significant attachment that gets broken is going to cause grief. It's entirely natural and normal to feel this sadness in the period between losing the attachment to a former home and re-establishing that attachment in a new home. In fact, if you did NOT experience this sadness, it's likely that each new place you moved into would feel that much less meaningful and "homey" to you, since you'd have that much less emotional "space" to give it as you hold onto the attachments to former homes. It's surprising how it can sneak up on you...I was so broken up leaving the apartment where I'd had my first girlfriend that as I was about to lock the door, my knees gave out on me and I bawled like a baby on the carpet for almost half an hour...that reaction caught me totally by surprise since I'd never felt that strongly about a PLACE before...my family never kept a home for long (and truthfully never kept a *happy* home) so I guess I avoided feeling ANY attachment to places before this happened.

me 2! my dads job is making us move from california to taiwan! i am 12, and i heard u were 9. we can definetally relate. ive been moving since i was born.
even though it is hard to move, you get used to different habitats. im my years i have made many friends, and even though i move a lot, i try keep in touch with my friends, so the sadness isnt as big. its smart to know that your friend u had when u were 1 day old, will still be your friend when your 100 years old.

A little bit, but wouldnt call it sadness, is the feeling of closing a cycle and begin another one.
Cheer up! Life is a journey of constant changes! :)

Usually YES but depends on where you move & if you really want to move. Also depends on how long you have been in that one place. Also depends on friends, family ECT.
