No, it's not true. If you're careful about who you choose as your friends you may never even hear about drugs. I went to a large public school in a metropolitan area and didn't even know of anyone who did drugs because of the types of people I chose to hang around with. Don't worry. Just stay strong and you will be fine. Peer pressure decreases with maturity.

well it definitly depends on where you go to school but I would have to say most HS do hsve this problem... there will always be some people who will pressure you to do drugs... the best way to avoid this is to avoid the situation.. dont put yourself in a position where you think someone might want to do drugs or pressure others into doing it. Those people who do drugs are doing it for the adrenaline... they like the fear of almost getting caught...there are people like that everywhere

No, at my highschool, there might be some people doign drugs, which i highly doubt. But no one in my grade has been pressured to do drugs. So there is your counterexample, therefore proving that now EVERY SINGLE PERSON is pressured to do drugs. Plus, a person has to seem to be the type of person who would most likely break to the pressure, to be most likely to be asked.

Well, I don't think people realize they are pressuring. If someone is doing drugs around you, they might offer you whatever they might have.
Its the curiosity that will get you.
If it makes you uncomfortable, make it known and the people who do these drugs will respect you enough to leave you alone about it.
No one's going to cram it down your throat. They have fun with it, and want you to have the same fun and experience.
Curiosity is the only reason I myself tried things. I never got hooked. Avoid the temptation, and you'll be fine.

Maybe not everyone get's pressured, but people will be like you're a chicken and you are a pussy. But dont ever give in to it. In High School you'll meet a bunch of people who do drugs or have done them, but intead of being part of those dumb kids be above them and do the right thing.

basically..... but if you have a really good group of friends you will not feel the same amount of pressure than you would if you were a jock or something. people do this to fit in... plain and simple.... it basically happens at parties though... so dont get sucked in. its VERY likely that at some point you will unfortuanely encounter drug use. DONT fall for it

Although peer pressure is most common in high school, not every person is confronted with the drug issue. If you stick with your friends who are not doing drugs, you'll be OK. If you are approached, just say "NO"!

No it's not true. Some areas are worse than others, true. But not everyone is pressued to do them. If they are offered to you say something like,"only losers do drugs, so NOOOOOOOOO." and you won't be asked again. That's what my nieces did and never heard another thing about it.
