My golden retriever has what I think are called Hot Spots. Anyone ever treated their dog for this and what did you use? I bought Burrows Solution and applied it. Anyone used that? How long until it clears up?

I have a golden and she goes through this all the timme I took her to the vet 2 times in the last couple of mths. She constantly gets these hot spots they give her a spray botanical and antibiotics (prednisone) and something to stop the itching and swelling, But I know exactly what u r going throught the vet said that they r allergic to flea bites and this is what happens. My golden ends up losing alot of hair but the meds always help. But for sure bring your golden to the vet they say that homeopathics r not approved by the vet..... She is normally on antibiotics for 2 weeks but it works wonders if your dog continues to scratch the vet said before i brought her in that I could give her 50 mg of benedryl, but call your vet and ask first...GOOD LUCK1!

My golden gets them all the time. He will itch them so much that they will get infected. The best thing i found is to use bitter apple to stop them from licking and use a anitbiotic from the vet.

Best Suggestion....call your vet and get meds from him...I tried home remedies, and still ended up calling him.
