Someone mentioned this in answer to a previous question of mine but i have a vague recollection that indeed the Tyrannosaurus Rex was given birth by a virgin mother...anyone know more?

Really I have a vague memory that the Rex didn't need to have sex to reproduce...I think maybe she could lay ready self-fertilised eggs or something like that...I wish I knew more about dinosaurs don't you also?

Nah, that's just the legend. Actually he was fathered by a Stegosaurus soldier who just happened to be stationed in the area.

Which came first, The egg or the hen? I think that they laid eggs and in such a case it is no use to talk about a virgin mother, but the egg came first after all.
