I wouldn't home school my kids because I'm not well-versed in enough subjects. Also, I want my kids to learn to "play well with others". Hard to do when you're home with mom all day.

I was homeschooled from 7th to 12th grade, and I homeschool my children. They have no desire to go off to school. They have friends (though many are "long-distance" - but then, so are most of *my* friends).
There are many people who dislike the thought of homeschooling. Much of this, however, is due to the government and press shoving the whole negative side down people's throats. Most of the people who have direct contact with homeschooling/homeschoolers have a different opinion.
Honestly, do you truly want to spend hour upon hour sitting in a desk, waiting for everyone else to understand before you can move on? Or, alternately, watching everyone else move on before you understand?
Many government schools have now done away with recess, and there is little to no peer "socialization" in many government schools. Also, what "socialization" there is, is not usually very good for the children: such as drugs, sex, bullying, etc. How often in life after school does one end up in a job with ONLY people their own age?
Perhaps you should evaluate *why* you dislike it.
As for spelling, punctuation, and grammar - some people just have more trouble than others in those areas. My husband has a college education but still has difficulties.

WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO RUDE? THERE ARE JUST AS MANY, IF NOT MORE, KIDS IN PUBLIC SCHOOL THAT CAN'T SPELL AS HOMESCHOOLED. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, WE ALL HAVE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES, AND IT REALLY CONCERNS ME WHEN I SEE PEOPLE ON HERE PUTTING SOMEONE DOWN, WHEN THEY'RE A HOMESCHOOLING PARENT. IT MAKES ME WONDER WHAT THEY'RE TEACHING THIER KIDS THAT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. ONE OF THE REASONS MOST OF US CHOOSE TO HOMESCHOOL, IS TO AVOID THE NEGATIVE ATTITUDES THAT THE KIDS HAVE. SO, WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF HOMESCHOOLING IF YOU'RE TEACHING THAT ATTITUDE YOURSELVES? THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY A PERSON CAN'T SPELL WELL, AND THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE YOU JUST GO AND BLAST SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW PERSONALLY. THINK ABOUT IT NEXT TIME. IF YOU'RE IN THE MOOD TO BE RUDE, GO AFTER THE IDIOTS ON HERE WHO ASK THE REALLY STUPID, BRAINLESS QUESTIONS, NOT SOMEONE WHO IS ASKING A LEGITIMATE QUESTION.
Anyway, I realize that did nothing to answer your question, but this was the final straw to my patience with rude people. My nephew was homeschooled from kindergarten until ninth grade, then went to a private school for one year, then to public school, and just graduated. He hated being homeschooled, but he told me it wasn't the socialization issue as he had LOTS of friends. It was the fact that my sister was too strict with him, and she put him down when he messed up, and made him feel stupid. So, I believe whether someone likes it or hates it is based on their individual experiences doing it, not on homeschooling as a whole. I'm not implying it's always the parents fault, with my nephew, I can say from my perspective of an outsider looking in, he just didn't like the fact that he couldn't get away with anything. But, I'm saying, whatever the circumstances are while a child is being homeschooled is what determines their acceptance of it. Hope this helps, even though I'm not speaking directly from personal experience.

I was home schooled for 2 years. But not by my parents. I was in a program where real teachers teach kids who are home bound through the telephone. All you do is hit the conference button on your telephone and your connected with a dozen or so other students and the teacher. All the homework was mailed to the teachers and they grade it and send it back to you. It was nice because you got to interact with other students and it was almost like a real class except you didn't see eachother. I liked it and at the end of the year you got to meet all the students and the teachers when you went to take the final at the the program headquarters.

Well, if you were homeschooled, maybe your question wouldn't make you sound like a moron. Bias should be biasED, there should be they are or they're, and what the heck is dicetion?
Where is your punctuation? There should be some commas in there.
Now I know why my kids will be homeschooled.

MEEEE! I didnt like it at all, and made my parents send me back to school the next year. I think politics are making more people think schools are not fit for their kids.... that may be the truth in some cases but in general they are wrong

I was homeschooled for 12 years. Maybe if you were homeschooled you would have learned to spell "decision"
