Wrong brush....hurting her

Not hard enough and she's trying to tell you that you are doing it wrong.

Wrong place on her body and again she is trying to tell you.

She flat up hates it and doesn't want it.

If she paws at the brush and tries to pull it towards her she does like it, just either doing it wrong or might be too much pleasure for her to handle if a young cat.

Try just lightly laying the brush between her ears and stroking it back and forth. Most cats will go off into a trance with their eyes closed when this is done.

Talk to your cat calmly and lovingly while you pet her. Get her in her happy place and intoduce the comb or brush as part of the petting process. Only comb her 2 or 3 times before you switch back to petting. Keep your tone and touch loving; cats can sense mood quickly and if combing her makes you nervous, it probably makes her nervous too. Just stay calm and she most likely will too. Just remember, the more you interact with your cat, the easier it will be to handle her.

I comb and pet my cat for about 15 minutes each evening. It helps me to unwind from the busy day and it gives my cat a lovely coat. Her vet comments on the high quality and sheen of her coat every time.

Try brushing her a little at a time. Maybe only a couple of strokes at first. My middle cat didn't like like it at first either. Also try using a very soft brush. If she likes being petted you could alternate your hand with the soft brush.

My cat used to do the same thing.. he could get really nasty when I tried to brush him... here's the trick... get another brush and let him bite the heck out of it.. while he's doing that, use another brush to actually get the job done... it worked like a charm for me...

with my cat Ricci, I first let him smell the brush. Then, I gently brushed his back while he was dozing. After a couple of "sleepy" brushes, he eventually loved the feel of a brush on his tummy and now rubs his head on it when I won't brush him. Also, what kind of brush are you using? I had to go to a comb for awhile because I was using a wire brush and he didn't like it. he liked the soft comb tho.

Try a different type of comb or brush and only do it for a short time when she starts to get irritated stop and let her go.

You have a couple of choices:

1. Don't brush it.
2. Shoot it.
3. Take it to groomer's.
4. Shave it.

If the cat bites you again, just put it in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes to loosen the skin; peel the skin and put it on the bar-b-q and have a great dinner....meOW!
